If you can drink your tap water (meaning safe to drink, not necessarily fantastic flavor) then you can put it up your ass.Don't waste money and energy on bottled or distilled water for your enemas.
I have hard water at home. When I make a soapy enema, there aren't a lot of suds. With soft water, the same amount of soap is overflowing with suds. It makes sense, just noting it publicly. My typical enema is 3 quarts with 3 tablespoon of J & J baby shampoo.
I think one of the best things about enemas is that tap water is practically free, at least the amount required for a good enema. That, and the quick relief, if needed. Otherwise, there's those "other" benefits.
For 50+ years haven't used anything but tap water plus a few added flavorings like salt or bicarb or soaps or glycerin or beer. Problems, none. Thrill, enjoyment, excitement, cleaning, arousal: priceless.Eric
Tap water at home or wherever I might be, which may or may not exclude certain foreign locations. But I've always wondered why colonic irrigation machines filter the water upstream of infusion. Maybe to reassure the client and actually protect against scale build-up inside its plumbing.

Maybe to reassure the client and actually protect against scale build-up inside its plumbing. It's partly so the manufacturer can sell the machine for much more than it's worth and to make the client feel better about the water being used.If you can drink it, you can use it for enemas.

My typical enema is 3 quarts with 3 tablespoon of J & J baby shampoo.Hard water and SSEs is one of the few combinations where you might want to do something. Not only will there be few suds (though this isn't the big deal), the "hard" materials will react with the soap to produce a hard-to-clean-out scum and this scum isn't nearly as effective at irritating the colon.Baby shampoo should work, because it's a (safe) detergent, or you can get a water softener if your water is hard enough to cause problems. Baby shampoo is also a good way to add a soap kick to an Epsom salts enema, because real soap will immediately precipitate out from the solution.
It all depends on the occasion. If I'm going to a seedy dive to listen to some low down blues- swamp water.A hoity-toidy art gallery opening- rare, and imported japanese volcanic water.Hanging out with old money- perrier.Making fun of hipsters- used water from goodwill.
I am lucky that I live in an area that has great tap water very little chlorine. No need for distilled or bottled water here.

Haha Susie. What you say is true, but also once it goes up your bum the gasses will come out too. And I'm not talking about out of the water. 😄
Van...You're right; we're lucky to live in the NW and can enjoy water right out of the tap.I've traveled extensively, both in the U.S. and all over the world and found Seattle's tap water plain delicious! I lived in Denver for a couple of years and I don't know how COOR's Beer got such a rep....you could damn near stand a fork up in a glass of water. And my second home was Laguna Beach, and don't drink water in SoCAl....wine does the job.Now living in Bellevue I still enjoy the 'Seattle-water'. Let me also add that for enemas I've found whatever 'local' there is does just fine in quart segments, etc., etc.the boxcar
Always used tap water and never had a problem since age 13- nearly 50 years of enemas. I have started adding to the tap water with various additives / recipes like Bronner's castile soaps or Epson salts. It has been said so many times on this site- if the water is safe to drink it certainly is safe for an enema.
I have used almost exclusively plain tap water, but one time I did use distilled water. Frankly, couldn't tell the difference
My water comes from melted rocky mountain snow. save your distilled water to use in your car and truck batteries.
Straight tap water out of the Columbus Water Works. Ben using it every 3 days for 13 years. Yesterday, I used an old jar of Ivory Flakes to make a pretty soapy solution. By the end of the 2 qts., I was orgasming ! Someone else recently said this had happened to them also. Does the soap make it more erotic? I'm gonna find out!
I am lucky that I live in an area that has good tap water. The chlorine seems to be just right. Enough to kill off the bacteria, but not to much to overwhelm the quality. No need for distilled or bottled water here ether. I also have a well that does not get used much. I'm sure the mineral content, and pollution is a lot better than tap water but because its not used much I'm concerned that the bacteria may be a problem.
Here in Houston the tap water is full of junk, like 298ppm dissolved solids. I use distilled water 100%.
I use tap water. I have used some of my jugs of water that I buy for drinking, but I found it to be not such a great idea because I ran out of drinking water much too quickly that way and for no difference in feeling.
If you’re doing multiple enemas, and ending with 2 or 3 large volume events(3 or more qts) you will dilute your electrolytes unless you add salt to the water.
Regular tap water with a little salt in it. Do people have enough money to pour Fiji bottles into their bag? Lol!
Our great grandmothers did the same thing.and for those who talk of the 40s&50s,I don't believe spacial waters were available as readily as today.I use 2 qts of plain tap water quite warm, and usually for the first with soap added to the full bag. That is followed be a plain warm tap water. Yes, I like her to hold it for me 10 minutes. (I do put the kitchen timer there to be sure its a full 10 minutes).
Tap water in 99% of the US is drinkable (Flint MI.... not so much.) And if its OK to INGEST, then its OK to use up your ass, especially since 99% of it is simply purged back out again! You dont need distilled, or purified or sterilized water for enemas. The whole ‘dont drink tap, buy bottled water’ shtick (conspiracy) was CREATED by huge companies like Coke and Pepsi, as the health craze started demonizing sugary drinks (which was all their profits.) All the major bottled water companies are really owned by large soda/beverage companies so that they cornered that market as it grew as well. Its all a big crock of s**t, and allows them to make HUGE profits, since ‘making’ water is basically free compared to making soda.
