We've used them but normally we don't - I give a couple small enemas to my wife before and I wash carefully after.

Perhaps it's possible that I could get an infection if some bit of fecal matter got stuck in the meatus but I don't believe so - I mean, it should get out when I pee.

Also we tend to use Vaseline, which damages condoms.

If you use plenty of lube, it should not matter whether you wear a condom or not.

You DO NOT have to get feces "stuck" in your meatus to get a UTI. The bacteria get in anyway. You don't have anything "stuck" in the meatus when you contract syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia or herpes or anything else.

Anybody remember the term, Honeymoon Cystitis? It was often used in the 60's and before when newly weds first started having sex and the female got a UTI, from frequent and aggressive sex between the couple. Supposedly, as each couple got used to one another's natural bacteria, the cystitis ended. That happened to me and first wife (RN). Don't know if it was accurate or not, but that's what her Dr. called it. I never got any UTI's at that time. She wouldn't even consider anal, ever! Hell, within a year or two, she cared little for sex at all! Left me feeling like a poor lover, or rejected. I tried EVERYTHING I could think of to make her like it more, but nothing worked. Ahhh yes, honeymoon cystitis. This has happened to Doc and I at least once that I know of. Back in my teens, when I first started having sex - that was the big attraction to anal - being able to fuck and cum inside my girlfriend (now wife) without a condom.
