Hearing about enemas

When I was a kid (5-😎 I would head my grandmother talking about enemas every so often. In her bathroom was a red bag that hung on the wall between the claw footed bathtub and the toilet, and I think she took at least one enema every day. I would go into the bathroom after she was through, and was enraptured by the smells of the rubber and the poop and the sulfur from the matches that had been struck during the expel. I think she was the only one there who used enemas daily, and I have always wondered if they were a sexual act or not. They sure became that for me.

All the people I know are very shy and prudish about enemas... It's a topic I never heard openly discussed in public!

I first heard bout enemas when I was about six. One of my neighbors had been in the hospital for a tonsillectomy. They told me they had an an enema in their hospital room and then were taken down the hall on a gurney to release it in the bathroom.

I frequently heard mother and grandmother discussing the enema topic in the course of ordinary conversation when I was 7 years old. It didn't take much deductive reasoning for me to figure out where to put that nozzle.

I heard plenty of intimate talk between my mother and her sisters and her friends when I was preschool. I just didn't understand all the words at the time. Claire, my mom's friend, spoke the most about enemas. She must have had a thing about them as the topic always seemed to come up when they had coffee together. She also talked about giving her son enemas, which perked me up. I feared my mom would tell her about me but she never offered details.

One of my aunts extolled the virtues of colonics, which I figured was somehow enema related. Another aunt would relate her recent activity of giving herself a pedicure, which I thought must have been a special kind of enema, since she also would talk about constipation.

My Mother talked about enemas to her friends, neighbors and siblings. Especially if I were going to get an enema from her. After a rectal temp, she would announce I think you need an enema today. She would call my dad and tell him I'm giving Tommy an enema today. Then call my grandmother, aunt and the neighbor lady.

It was exciting and agonizing waiting for her to give me the enema. She would make me take a nap, then try one more time to go to the bathroom. When I didn't she would have me take off my PJ bottoms and wait in bed. I'd hear the linen closet open, then the sound of running water, then she walked down the hall to my bedroom. She had towels and a bulging enema bag. She made me take as much water as I could hold, then I was allowed to expel it, but I had to repeat this process till the bag was empety

As a child, I heard a conversation my grandmothers about preparing enema for me. I had mixed feelings. Even then, I began to feel a pleasant feeling of enemas, but did not know the true source of pleasure.
