Is it ok to get an erection on nude beach or in sauna?

When you have an erection at a nude beach, campground, or any other place where nudity is considered the norm, either turn over or cover your self with a towel until the erection subsides.

After you've been to these locations a couple of times that won't be a problem as you will adjust to your environment

Given that I'm a virile male, if you told me erections in certain places were inappropriate, I simply would just not even show up.

Given that I'm an older male, I am thankful for the erections I do get, and would not want to think they would ever be offensive to anyone if I am otherwise behaving appropriately. You know, not like I'd be standing there waving it at somebody, yelling "Here, honey, come have a taste"

I was wondering about this. I myself have never been to a nude beach. But I have a friend who lives in Australia. Her family are nudist. She tells me that she goes to nude beaches and you see men with erections sometimes and nobody says a word. They just don't pay attention. She says when they host a party at their home sometimes you see the men and boys with erections. Again she says nobody says a word or pays attention. Like a girl walking around with a tampon string. It is natural. She says sometimes her father will get an erection around the house. As for me and my sister we have never seen our father nude. Nor do we want to and especially with an erection. But I guess if you were raised like this it would not bother you.

No. Turkey displays are volitional, most erections at social nude venues are spontaneous. A man with a volitional erection needs to go away.

My point is (and has always been) it's about intention. Nobody makes a big deal about erect nipples or hair follicles (goose flesh). Just like most erections, they're spontaneous. In the interest of convention, an ethical nudist will cover up for a few minutes. An experienced nudist also doesn't get sexually excited by nudity.

Not at all, there's no burden of proof. I used to jokingly tell my massage students that it's about where he points it. It's easy to determine probable intent based on behavior beyond the groin.

At Blacks Beach in San Diego, CA the clothing optional section is just over a mile long and during low tide very wide. No one is ever sitting on top of each other, even during summer when several thousand people show up. There is ample beach and sand for everyone. There are always people walking the length of the clothing optional section. Guys do walk with erections, are usually labeled show offs by the regulars, both men and women, and ignored by most. There is a time and place for everything and showing your body is one thing, but most of us know how the body works so it not necessary for guys to prove a certain part works.

The two things do not compare. Menstruation cannot be brought into this simply to even things up.

At a nudist location, an erection would usually be a very obvious sign of sexual arousal, and visible from a distance if the male doesn't take steps to conceal it.

For a woman to be menstruating is not a sign of sexual arousal but is her natural biological cycle. Unless you were looking much more closely than you probably should be, it wouldn't be so noticeable, and the issue of sexual arousal isn't there. There is the possibility of a string being visible at a close distance, but it is "hardly" the same as having an erection. 😁 😁 😁

As far as I know, all (if not all, then most) nude allow tampons, to 'conceal' the blood.

If we are expected to take steps to conceal our period, then I don't see why, going by the above assumption that periods somehow equate to hard ons, it is out of the question that men should be expected to somewhat conceal their erection.

@Buttwoman Agreed, that's just stupid. A woman's period is never controllable, while a mans erection (unless you are 13 yrs old), mostly is. And if you get those 'feelings' you have choices :

- roll over on your stomach, use a towel, be discrete

- a beach has water - shrinkage!!

- every nude beach has people that you wish didn't go to nude beaches, look at them! If a sagging 70 yr old man with a huge belly doesn't dissolve your erection in seconds... (no offense intended)

The consensus at the nude beach in New Jersey is that if an erection happens it is normal and acceptable even if the guy is standing up and/or walking around. He just happens to be comfortable with his body. IF the park rangers see that man touching and 'encouraging' that erection with his hand then it moves into lewd behavior and he can/will be arrested. If the rangers merely see the guy with an erection then they keep moving along.

I doubt this. If the idea is that it’s not allowed, because people don’t want to see it, why would they announce it so everyone looks? Sounds like the pee-dye urban legend in public pools.

And no, its not OK for erections at nude beaches. There is a difference between NUDITY and SEX, which adults should understand. Now if the nude beach is attached to a swingers club or something thats different, because its a sexual atmosphere. But no one else wants to see you sporting your manliness, just to enjoy the suns rays and water sans clothing.

If you’ve ever been to a ‘regular’ nude beach, erections shouldnt be a problem as 90% of the bodies you see will more than counteract the 10% that might be attractive! More than once while at the beach I have gone into the water to cool off my erection. (And that is much nicer in Florida than in California.) I have been to a few nudist resorts (in Thailand) couple of times. Even in the first visit, I'd never had an erection. I'd just say that my body had just adjusted.

I'd been to nude sauna (which all sentos in Japan is just in nude anyway) in Japan many times (I'm bisex BTW) and never had an erection either.

While not rude it is frowned upon by some. There are times an erection is unavoidable at a beach or resort, I normally laugh it off and tell the lady it is junior saying hello.

I visit two different venues in the summer, one a clothing optional hot spring where everyone seems to prefer nudity,and the other a destination nudist resort in my area. I've never had nor have I seen an erection at those venues. There are some very attractive people of both sexes wandering around, dining, relaxing in the sunshine, and swimming. I think it's a matter of sensory overload. There are so many people of various body types, so much bare skin, and a lack of modesty that the view of the crowd is very non-sexual.

I love being nude in my own home and yard. It's secluded and can't be seen from the road or neighbors. I'd love to try a nudist camp and there is one about 12 miles away, but my biggest fear would be getting an erection!
