Is it ok to get an erection on nude beach or in sauna?

Usually not. At nudist facilities, the environment is sexually charged, but overt sexual behavior is not allowed. Now, if you (or you and your sweetie) have privacy and the place all to yourself, OR it's an "adult" type of resort/club/beach, then it might even be appriciated.

That definitely is NOT the case unless you are at a sexually based event, like Kink in the Caribbean or the unfortunately discontinued Hedonism III events.

Family based nudist facilities are just like clothes venues, sans the clothes.

At nude beaches, you won't get arrested with an erection, but you are not supposed to go around flaunting it either. Doing so will get you a bad reputation and you may be asked to leave.

I have been in many nude situations which are coed. Primarily at a beach but also on other occassions. I have not gotten an erection, nor have I been tempted to because it is nonsexual nudity. Before going to a nude beach the first time, I was concerned about getting an erection, but I didn't. It just wasn't the place so it did not happen.

I know that would be a problem with me. I would be rock hard and unable to soften up.

Well from a woman's point of view, I wouldn't mind walking along the beach in my sunglasses (to hide which way my eyes are wandering) if there was something to see other than boats and sandcastles.

I would agree with Elizabeth. I don't believe a woman would be particularly offended. Myself I would find it hard (sorry) difficult to deliberately get a boner while at the nudist beach. It is not my purpise for being there. But it has happened a couple of times, because of falling half asleep on a baking hot day and having nice thoughts perhaps, I have got a full erection and walked down the beach to get in the sea quick to cool it off, quite acceptable if a young boy sports an erection but perhaps not correct behaviour for an adult, seems unfair press as it is a natural body function.

I have been going to nude beaches for a number of years and I can't recall ever seeing and adult with an erection. There have been a few young teens that were that way including my son. I just told him to relax, and either lay on his tummy or put a towel over himself. Most adolescent boys can't control their erections that is why they are called spontaneous erections. I think think there are far more important things to worry about than a man having an erection at a nude beach.

It is certainly OK to get an erection in the sauna, but it's not polite to flaunt it. It can make some others uncomfortable, so the best thing to do is cover it up until it subsides.

The first time I went to a nude beach was with my wife when we were both in our young 30's. I was a bit nervous about the possibility of getting an erection but never did. I think the more you are exposed to the nude lifestyle and the people who enjoy nude venues the less you have to worry about. As far as most teens are concerned, if they are anything like me at that age they can get an erection looking at a fence post.

I have been a nudist going to nudist resorts for more than 24 years. I have never had a problem with an erection while visiting a nudist venue. I have seen women with tampon strings hanging out. Its normal and nothing to be concerned about. On a cool day or night I have seen many stiff nipples too. All nudists should carry a towel with them. Just cover up until you are flaccid again.

I've never had an erection at a nudist beach in over 30 years of regular visits and have only ever seen a couple. Although people are naked it's not a particularly sex-charged atmosphere and most people are fairly relaxed and natural with their own and other people's nudity. Any stirrings and it's quite easy to roll over onto your stomach or disappear into the water. I imagine it might be different for a number of clothed voyeurs with binoculars who congregate at the rear of some of the beaches I've been to!

Sure - it happens. At Sandy Hook in NJ I see a few a summer. No one has much to say about it. If there is overt sex going on, that's a problem and the rangers crack down.

Saunas are a little different and it seems like there are different rules at different places.

As I teach my students, it's not the erection, it's the intention. If the man isn't doing anything with his erection or to enhance his erection, it's not any more an issue that someone with erect nipples.

Having an erection is normal; however, I don't go around stroking it in these environments :+)

I have been visiting several baths with nude open air sun terraces. It has happened I have got an erection and I have also seen many guys being erected at that places. It is completely natural and there is nothing about it...

IDK not sure.. My wife and i have talked about nude beach. But i get an erection just removing my underpants and have some one around.

Perfectly natural and we have never had a problem with it.

There's an easy way to quickly kill an erection. Pinch the head of your penis hard.

This also is a technique for dealing with premature ejaculation too. When you feel the urge coming on too soon, pinch it. It subsides.

In high school. Everyone, had a boner showering or just changing? As an adult gone to a spa I've walked around with a boner as other guys there. No big deal.

Nature will take its course, but I was very embarrassed the first time it happened on the beach. I laid on my stomach for quite some time until it went down. Now it doesn't bother me as much.

When I was going through puberty I would get erections at all sorts of times. Not much to be done except wait until it went away. This wasn't so much in nude situations, but it was still obvious through my trousers. It did seem that the more embarrassed I was (i.e., the more I thought about it) the longer it would take to subside. Of course telling myself "don't think about the erection you have" was counter-productive. Sort of like hiccups. As hormone levels decline with age it becomes less of a problem.

So when confronted with the problem, just wait a few years 😃

In this situation when you're already naked and everyone can already see your dick, I don't see what difference it should make to them how soft or hard it is, except a few inches!

On the other hand, being naked with an erection feels like I'm a different type of naked than when I am naked without an erection. The thing is, I really don't know which way feels more naked. When I am soft, the erection is another thing that I am without, in addition to being without clothes. When I am hard, not only is my entire body visible, my arousal is visible as well. This is why I personally don't feel like someone has really seen me naked unless they have seen me both with an erection and without an erection.

Even though being hard in the nude and being soft in the nude are two different types of nudity, I still don't see why it should matter which state other people see you in. But I guess there are a lot of things about society that don't necessarily make sense. Of course this sort of thing is ok in reality, but whether it is ok in other people's minds, who knows. So overall I would say yes, it is ok. As other posters have said, just be cool about it.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

An erections in a nudist environment is all about intention. If you have no intention, it's no different than goose flesh or erect nipples - it's a non-issue. If you're staring at people and getting erect, you're being inappropriate.

I will say, since someone brought it up, as a woman that has extensive experience at European beaches, saunas and nudist events since age 18, I would go through moves to get a man removed from premises if he would say to me, or to insinuate that his hardon was because of my nude presence.. If other, sensible, mature men have no problems with controlling their erections (or at the very least, know when to not say something that only is excusable to say out of ones mouth if you are under 17 years old), I see why you can't. Or the very least, if you do get one, to be tactful to not draw attention to it. No one cares about your hardon, and the more you draw attention to it, the more you are seen as a creep...

Regularly use nudist beaches in Spain and the Canary Islands and have never seen a erect penis! I must admit I do like the thought of people looking at my penis while I am sunbathing, and occasionally if my partner has shown me some affection on the beach my penis does start to engorge, but never a full blown erection

Seen occas at Bkacks Beach in San Diego, a first time visitor May comment, the regulars usually label them as the "pervs".

It has never been a problem for me when nude and in public venues where nudity is the norm. For someone unable to disconnect sex from nudity, I suppose it might be an issue. In situations where sex is inappropriate, I can appreciate and admire the beauty of a nude female without becoming sexually aroused, just as I do when giving an enema to a female without becoming sexually involved. It's really a matter of where your thoughts are. If your thoughts run astray, so will your erect penis. Generally, folks who practice nudity are the most honest people you're likely to find.

I am a nudist so frequent nude areas and see it happen all the time. It is just normal and happens and is not necessarily a sexual response to anything. It can happen because the sun feels good on your body. It can happen from the pressure of one laying on one's stomach or any other of many non-sexual reasons. It is just what happens to males on occasions.

Here is my thoughts. Like many post herewithin, I've been a nudist my whole life. My parents were and I grew up around more nudist than "textiles."

On a nudist beach, with only adults, preferably under an umbrella or something similar, and "natural erection" with no hands/manipulation, masturbation, I don't see a problem. My parents taught as much. Obviously, a male is mother obvious than a female. I have a home at a family nudist resort/camp. It would never be appropriate here. Actually, I've never had an issue with it, even as a hormone driven teenager. I suppose growing up here and around nudist, the novelty of it all never was there so the "brain" part of arousal isn't present.

On a second note, I have been on beaches and some resorts where sexual arousal and sex itself is very much the norm. Obviously, at these venues, an erection is almost expected.
