"...colposcopy, hysteroscopy, IUD insertion or any of the other numerous treatments/investigations that are routinely done."
No, no and a BIG fat no.
Over the years I have had numerous gyn medical procedures. Starting with a pain(s) in my abdomen. I had been having female problems for several months, spotting and discomfort. I was still going to my pediatrician. He agreed to examine me and found a cyst. He prescibed birthcontrol, 3 pills a day for 3 days, then 2 pills for a week, something on those lines (who can remember and it does not matter at this point).
Well I am SURE I did not follow the doctors orders 100%.
Eventually I told my mother and went to a gyn. I had a couple of gyn exams in less than one year after my pediatrician finding the cyst.
One night the pain got so bad and I had not eaten anything substantial for a couple of days, my sister rushed me to the nearest hospital.
Zero appetite should have been a clue.
The experience is etched in my mind.
Absolutely nothing sexual about it. At 16 it was not fun, not sexual.
Now in the hospital, late, very late Thursday night, eyes glassy, skin sticky. Lots of pain, they gave me a shot of demerol. The only bed was on the nursery ward, so high as a kite, wandered down to see the babies, clutching the back of my gown.
The next morning was like a whirl wind.
I hadn't been in a hospital since my tonsillectomy at age 5. At the crack of dawn, a nurse comes in to prep me, I'm still groggy and no one has told me has anything. No explanation, nothing. Except the are going to do a D&C. They did all sorts of orher things, check my blood coagulation, took my nail polish off etc. A huge list of things. I said, I this is a lot for a D&C. They told me just in case they have to operate.
In addition to having a cyst that turned gangrenous, woke up sometime later that day, turns out my appendix was about to burst. So they took my tube and ovary too.
I was there 9 days. Given all kinds of shots. Many of the nurses were just horrid for no reason. There was only one or two pleasant nurses during my stay.
I have had saline injected into my bladder after they painfully shoved a cath inside, they've looked inside my bladder with a camera, laparoscopy (sp?) and other rectal exams for varous reasons.
An IUD sounds gruesome, in my 20s, "all" the girls where I worked seemed to have gotten one. The thought of one makes me ill and squeamish. No, no, no.
There are many more details and procedures. However, being split open and left with a 12 inch bikini scar, no I am not looking forward or wishing for any more real life female medical exams.
Now kink ones, yes.
