"Toto" enema toilet experience

Want to hear from anyone else who has experienced the japanese "Toto" enema toilet as I have, like what settings do you prefer, and how strong a water setting you use to get way up your rectum.....I love the strong "pulsing" setting after taking a suppossitory about an hour before using the Toto enema toilet, it's like having someone's finger massaging your anus.

I bought a Toto after I got home from Japan and loved using it in a hotel there. Also love the "bottom" hot air dryer, you don't even need toilet paper any more.

If you don't want to use toilet paper, you can have a bidet installed.

I have never used one of these type of toilets, but I have been curious. I have a question: It looks like the "enema nozzle on these machines does not actually penetrate your rectum. So how much water pressure does it take to get the water past your sphincter muscle? Is it easy to take a reasonable amount 1 to 2 quarts this way, or is it just enough to empty out your rectum?

I know that Toto makes high end toilets with a bidet option. Is that what you're referring to? Is for washing your bottom, not for injecting fluid into the rectum.

I'd have pressure concerns....

At my country the bidet is part of the standard furniture of every bathroom.

Its unique function is the washing of the intimate parts, and it has nothing to do with enemas.

In the high-end models there's a small sprayer shower embedded in the bottom's center, which sprays upwards and can be used only to rinse off the soap.

Bidet have disappeared from usual equipement in Belgium, last year in a nice little Venetian hotel they have removed the bidet from the bathroom.

Don't worry. There is nothing that gets inserted. It just sprays a stream at your anus.

I can't imagine it gets any farther up than the rectum.

In order for it to get farther, you would have to clench your anus to hold it and if you clenched too hard, the water spray wouldn't go inside you.

Claudia: What Americans may mean by bidet is different from the European version. In Europe e.g. France, Italy etc. a bidet is a porcelain fixture a bit the shape of a toilet, which one can use to wash one's bottom and genitals, and feet. Sometimes in the US they mean a small shower head affixed to a toilet so that one may wash one's bottom and genitals.

Bidets used to be popular in France and commonly found in older bathrooms but now they have somewhat fell out of favor - space is a premium and people now generally shower every day (it was common in the past to shower/bathe more infrequently but to wash the dirty parts every day). Indeed in Italy one seems them in every bathroom.

I personally like the bidet because they allow washing the genitals/bottom without a full shower. In the evening we like to have clean intimate parts for marital play, and a full shower tends to wake me up too much and takes more time.

We have an attachment that fits on any regular toilet. I bought it at Home Depot for around 50 bucks. Only took about an hour to install. If you position yourself just right you can direct the stream of water at the proper angle so that it enters the rectum. My wife uses it for exterior cleansing only, but I sometimes can't resist taking a little squirt. It certainly doesn't replace an enema bag, but it can be a little fun. Our oldest son and his family also have one, though I doubt if they use it for enemas.

Regarding Japanese "advanced" toilets: I once took a trip to Japan and tried them at the hotel and other places. There is a button that sends a stream of water to the anus (sometimes with adjustable position) and sometimes another button that sends a stream of water to the vulva, for females. Some also have a dryer.

I think being able to wash the poo and pee off after going potty is great. There is no reason to carry smelly dirty excrement on oneself. Toilet paper goes some of the way but not all.

The dryer on the toto is ridiculous unless you have time on your hands for getting dry.

Just use a real bidet, or just a washcloth and wipe dry.

Think about it, in a public bathroom, aren't paper towels MUCH faster than the air hand dryer--especially if you aren't briskly rubbing your hands together.

Switchablesusie: The dryer I'm referring to is meant to dry the anal area after the water jet has cleaned it.

I'm unfamiliar with the Toto model sold in the States, I refer only to the items I saw in Japan.

The air dryers are dead slow.

Switchablesusie: I agree that in a home bathroom, using a real bidet (European-style) with soap and a washcloth should be faster. But in Japan such toilets are found in companies and other locations accessible to the public, where no washcloths are available.

Interesting I once saw a bidet in a restaurant bathroom, in Portugal. Dunno whether this was intentional or a result of some conversion of an apartment.

You are better off using toilet paper of tissues to dry yourself.

We had Toto toilets in Bangkok long before they came with all the extras - one of the best operating toilets ever. One house we rented had the flat porcelain bowl type bidet with the nozzle pointing straight up. While moving in my brother-in-law investigated this strange fixture he'd never seen before. He leaned over it and twisted the handles.. Water shot straight up in his face! He spluttered, we laughed. and he began drying his face. Then after I told him what it was really used for, he ran back to the bathroom - not for the bidet but to scrub his face with soap - over and over - that was funnier than the initial face-squirt. Seems I've related this story here before - if so, sorry for the repeat. After moving in we tried it as an enema device but soon resorted back to the bulb - much much more sensual.

A person would be nuts to use a public real bidet. A towel is the only way to go to dry off!

In hotels I don't see why we should not be using it - bathrooms are cleaned before each client. I like the bidet when I wash my wife in the evening (we have a kind of ritual: I wash her bottom front and back before bed-time), though I can make do with a sink and a washcloth.

When I lived in Thailand, down country, in 1960,the toilets were all for squatting, not sitting on, and they simply flushed.

I recently bought a Biobidet B2000 seat. It has all the bells and whistles but I have been unable to take an enema with it. Does anyone have some advice?

In all my 62 years, I have never actually seen a bidet in a hotel, or anywhere else for that matter. Sure I've seen pictures, but I don't think I've even seen one used in a porn flick.

During our residencies in the Caribbean all of the homes we rented had a bidet. Those all had a small center vertical spray to rinse the perineum. Most also had warm water to a hose barb with a lever operated, spring loaded valve. A short length of hose connected between the hose barb and whatever type of nozzle or tube one wished.

I quickly got the hang of standing or sitting for an enema. It was more of a large retained-douche which at least cleared my lower colon rather than a large-volume cleanse of the entire colon. (better done with a salt-soda solution anyway.)

I thought the flow-rate/pressure was OK for what it offered and it was far quicker than assembling then cleaning and storing my usual enema gear.

I've once used a variant of the Toto seat and think that the porcelain bidet is a better approach if one has the floor space.

Quincy: Porcelain bidets can be found in nearly all homes and hotels in Italy, and in many places in France and I think Spain and Portugal, though the tendency is to remove them to save space (a pity, they are handy if you want to wash down there in the evening without a full shower, or for washing dirty feet).

I've never seen any in the US. Come visit Italy and you'll see many.

In some Arabic countries there is a hose next to the toilet, because the custom is not to wipe with paper but to wash the anus with the left hand and then wash the hands.

Hankb - absolutely agree! Of course hotels had western sit-down fixtures with the occasional porcelain bidet too. Only that one last house we rented had both, but we were just lucky to find it.

Interesting, might need to research this a bit more, but it seems the cheaper ones built into a toilet seat would have cold water spraying on you unless they have a built in water heater that works instantly.
