I had real anal speculum, anoscopies and flexible sigmoidoscopies and colonoscopy examinations. The speculum-examinations , anoscopy and the flexible sigmoidoscopies werde done without sedation, the colonoscopy was done in analgosedation with propofol. Two times i had sigmoidoscopy at my general practionier- in germany doctors for internal medicine are often involved in the work of general practioniers and offer endoscopy, ultrasound and other technical examinations in their surgery.
The both times i schedulded the examination, came into the surgery, was sent into the endoscopy room, had to get naked from the waist down and had to use a towel around the bottom, had to lay on the left side, the nurse came and lifted the towel, spreaded my cheeks and applied the enema. 10 minutes later i expelled the rectum at the toilet, being next to the endscopy room, laid back on the table, used the towel again, the doctor came in, the towel was lifted by her, she spreaded my cheek and inserted the scope, then she pushed the scope slowly while she looked through the ocular and and used the wheels and the air-ventile at the scope for insufflation of air into the rectum and bowl pushing the scope forward to the left flexure, the i turned around on the back and the scope was pulled back slowly, inspecting the bowl mucosa. It was neccesary to take a mucosa probe, so the nurse came back and assisted, at least a turned around on the left side again and the anal speculum was inserted and the anus was stretched to look for hemorrhoids.
A other anoscopy at a proctologist was no big deal. I was examined on a special proctology chair. I had to sit down on the chair and open my jeans, the chair was lifted up and turned down, the seat was turned down, so i laid on my back with my bottom in the air, now i pulled my jeans and panties over my buttock to midthigt, now the legs, being in stirrups were slightly apparted and the buttock checks were spreaded and the scope inserted an the anoscopy done without any preparation.
