Which is a better enema-the Fleet or the Bag?

I recently had to do a Fleets in preparation for a sigmoidoscopy. It took about ten minutes to work. I sensed nothing erotic about it. It burned a bit afterwards, but that got relieved after I applied a warm shower in the region. At the doctors office, prior to performing the test, he had to insert a device that actually extracts the extra fecal matter which the Fleets didn't get. It makes a gurgling sound while extracting.

I asked him why it says on the Fleets box to use caution if you're on a salt-restricted diet. He said it's because some people use the Fleet repeatedly and therefore could have an issue with the salt in it.

Point is, the Fleet doesn't get it all out and it can be irritating. Other posters have noted advantages of the bag.

Like the previous post, I was told to take a Fleet enema a couple of hours before a procedure. I took the enema and only a little bit of fecal matter came out. My insides also burned and some mucous came out when I had a second urge to go. Told my wife what occurred and she filled up our enema bag. When she was done, the amount of material expelled looked like I didn't have a prior enema. I should have ignored the doctor's instructions and just took a bag enema first.

Fleets are convenient, but they still take almost a half hour with limited results. I use a leftover hospital plastic bucket. It's easy to set up. You can mix the soap as you are filling, and it gives a very complete cleanout with 1500CC's of solution. It only takes about 45 minutes from beginning to end.
