Wife witnessed my Rectal Exam for appendicitis

How many here have had a spouse witness you have an embarrassing procedure performed in a hospital? Last year I visited the ER because I had severe pain in my lower abdomen. The attending physician was a female. She asked me to get up on the exam table but I was hurting so bad I couldn't even try. My wife had to hold me up while the Dr pressed on my abdomen. What happened next I will resent for the rest of my life. Since I couldn't get on the exam table, the Dr had me lean forward on a stool on my knees while my wife steadied me. The Dr doned an exam glove, lubed up with K-Y, and upon saying "this won't be pleasant", shoved her finger in as far as it would go up my rectum. I nearly blacked out it hurt so bad. I would have fallen over if my wife wouldn't have been there. It made me sick. The Dr pulled her finger out and said for sure I had an infected appendix. Needless to say I was in the OR withing the next hour. My appendix was close to rupturing. My wife is a real sweetheart because she never mentioned it to anyone what happened. I think it scared her as much as it hurt me having that exam. I've never had anything hurt me as much as when I had that exam.
