I was going to post a thread on this topic & then found this thread,

I was in a plaster body cast for three months before being giving a removable plactic body cast that I wore every day & night (only being removed for showers & toilet) up until my accident.
The cast was from my neck to the right knee, I could only lay flat on my back or stand.
The plaster body cast was torture & very nearly drove me insane. Being placed in restraints is one thing but being in that cast knowing there was noway out for several months, well......
By the second or third day I was an emotional reck for a couple of weeks, I really don't think you would enjoy it as much as you think you will.
Being woking from sleep every few hours as the nurses rolled me on my sides & on to my back through out the night wasn't much fun, they would prop me with pillows so I was never really fully on my side but it was a welcome relief from the posiition I was in for a few minutes.
If you go ahead with susies idea, fizzy drinks are out.
I'll have to take some pictures of my plastic cast & post on here.
