Seems this issue has got worse with age, maybe not... Just been noticing this increasing over the last couple years.
Just yesterday decided to self-administer an enema, used an open top, 2 quart bag, and a inflatable rentension nozzle.
After a quick rinse with bulb type enema, prepared the two quart bag. From reading through the forums here, I added 2 teaspoons of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of salt, then some Ivory soap.
The Ivory soap is a separate issue in itself! Don't know how much to use. From other comments here, I took a bar of Ivory soap, put in in a large jar and filled it with water, closed off the top and let it sit.
Well after about two weeks, the bar still hasn't dissolved, even giving it a shake about once a day. The water in the jar is white, after shaking there is bubbles in the jar, but there is still a large portion of the bar still intact.
Anyway, I opened the jar, and poured in some of the water from the jar. It was kind-of 'slimy' and very thick. Probably poured in about 1/3 of what was in the jar, then filled it back up with water and sealed up the top again.
I then filled the open top bag with water, was lucky enough to get my hand down into the open top bag to try and stir things up. The water felt that the soap mixed well as the water felt kind-of slippery to my hand. But still didn't know if I had enough, too much, or the proper amount.
Anyway, I proceeded to lay on my left side, insert and inflate the nozzle, then opened up the clamp. The water started flowing, then stopped and after a couple deep breaths, began flowing again until the bag was empty.
I rolled over onto my back for about a minute, then to my right side for a minute, then up on my elbows and knees for about a minute. I was surprised that I didn't have an immediate 'urge' like I usually have felt in the past.
In fact, I felt pretty comfortable, even standing up. I felt that I could possible take even a little more, so with the nozzle still in place, I filled the bag about half way, and even in the standing position, holding the bag up high, I took about another quart.
I decided that I wanted something different and try and hold it as long as possible.
I began to feel that urge, removed the nozzle and sat down, but only very a little came out, probably just what was down in my rectum.
Well I started to wait for the rest of it to come out, not trying to hold it anymore. But it would seem that my 'system' was holding it on it's own. I sat for like over 'two hours' while it just dribbled out of me, maybe a half cup at a time.
I tried rubbing my stomach, raising my arms, twisting at the waist, even going for short walks from the bathroom and back, laying back down again, rolling from side to side, even laying on my stomach. It didn't seem like there wasn't anything I could do to get that water flowing back out of me!
And I did have a few errands to run that day, but naturally didn't want to leave the house until I knew all that water was out of me!
I'm more used to colonics, letting the water flow in and out, slowly cleaning everything out of there until I was able to fill me up to what felt like two quarts up inside me... Basically feeling the water hit my lower right side.
But even then, noticing lately that it was taking a long time for the water to come out of me.
Being more used to colonics, I know by what's coming out, what part of my intestines is getting 'flushed'. But yesterday and my enema, and the little amounts that were just dribbling out of me, I couldn't tell what was happening, or how far I was getting flushed out at.
Eventually I got out my colonic nozzle and just began letting water flowing and out, not trying to add even more to the problem, but just trying to get things 'moving'.
There were really no eurges during that entire time, like I have normally felt in the past, just the knowledge that I still had a lot of water in me that needed to come back out! But just dribbles, again 'maybe' about a half cup at a time.
And that was just the first enema, figuring that I would need to do a second as a rinse. Like that was really going to happen!
Eventually I felt comfortable enough to get dressed and get my errands taken care of. Luckily no problems along the way, but I sure did pee a lot throughout the day!
I would really like to do more enemas, get on some schedule or routine, but I can't be sitting around for a couple hours each time, waiting for that water to come out of me. Especially if I'm going to do a soap enema, and should do a rinse in a second enema.
And especially not knowing if that first 2 quarts is all out of me, before adding a second 2 quarts in me. Not to mention possibly another 2 hours waiting for the rinse to come out of me. Now I'm talking about the better part of a day, just doing a complete enema.
Read on here that some people do enemas 'daily', some weekly, and don't know how they do it! Especially the daily enemas...
Am curious about how long it takes others to do a 'complete' enema... the soap, the rinse, whatever it takes to start running clear water.
At this point, I don't know if maybe I didn't use enough soap, if I just had an off day, or it's just something with my system that is causing this to be so time consuming for me.
Looking for some input, advise, suggestions on how I can cut down the time it takes to complete a good enema. And again, how long it takes others to complete an enema.
Thanks!
