Dear KinkEDaddy, actually, I beg to differ. For example, chronic diarrhea definitely causes weight loss. I had a friend who had Giardia for over a year, from drinking water from a lake. It took the doctors that long to correctly diagnose and treat the problem (with an antibiotic, metronidazole). Why does diarrhea result in weight loss? Because the nutrients and fluids don't stay in you long enough to be fully absorbed. So, you see, enemas could create a similar physical process to some degree.
So, if you are taking saline enemas regularly and having a real good cleanout, and your diet and exercise remain constant, then yes, you would lose some weight over time. The saline solution should be slightly saltier than normal saline so that it will not be absorbed in any appreciable amount by the colon. Tap water does the opposite: it is rapidly absorbed by the colon, and you will find that you gain weight (temporarily). However, enemas are not a method that I'd recommend, of course, since it's much easier to go for walks and to eat carrot sticks instead of junk food, for example. Fewer calories in through your food, and more energy expenditure via exercise (yes, vacuuming the house is good exercise!), and voila! Weight loss. It is not rocket science!
Enemas are for fun, mostly, for this audience, and lets keep it that way!
