When my siblings and I were kids, mom gave us enemas in the bedroom laying on our stomachs or on our backs with our feet pulled back touching our bottom. When she moved us from the bedroom to the bathroom around age nine, she had us get in the knee chest position.
Grandma on the other hand, gave us enemas one on one laying across her lap, as did moms two teenage sisters. They also got tasked with giving us enemas together at bath time in the evening. The summer I turned nine, grandma gave my siblings and I our first 3H enemas. It was the first time I got an enema in the knee chest position, the first time an 18 - 24 inch colon tube was completely inside my colon. And the first time I got a rinse enema with a long curved douche nozzle buried in my behind. Afterwards, grandma and moms sisters used a long curved douche nozzle with us in the knee chest position for enemas.
When we got home from grandmas that summer, mom moved us from the bedroom to the bathroom for our enemas together. Like grandma, she had us get in the knee chest position, but never used a long curved douche nozzle. She always used the adult rectal nozzle. Once enemas in the bathroom became routine, mom started letting our sister help give my brother and I enemas. Mom didn’t let my brother and I help until we bitched about it, then she started letting my brother and I help give our sister enemas. Our biggest job was holding the nozzle in place for mom. Occasionally, she’d let us put the nozzle in each other as she removed her finger. Once in, we held the nozzle in place while water flowed in, then got to remove the nozzle once the hold time was up.
Once we were responsibility for ourselves as preteens and started giving each other enemas. We used either the knee chest position in the bathroom or we laid on our backs across our bed in the bedroom. A year or so into our enema activity, my girlfriend asked my sister to give her a couple of enemas one day, because she was having period cramps. My sister told her about our enema activities that afternoon, telling her, “you need to ask my brother next time.” A month or two later, she did just that. Asking me to giving her a couple of enemas for period cramps. I agreed, starting our monthly enema swapping during her period each month. When I finished giving her a couple of enemas, she always gave me a couple of enemas. With a few exceptions, this lasted until we finished High School. We used the knee chest position in the bathroom or put towels down across her bed laying on our backs with our feet pulled back.
Years later, after I was married, my wife and I used the knee chest position in the bathroom or we put towels down across our bed laying on our backs with our feet pulled. Once we had kids, their pediatrician recommended enemas for constipation in children under 18. My wife gave them enemas laying across her lap when needed. Just like we’d received enemas as kids from grandma.
