Names of Bags

My families bag was black with red rubber hose and black nozzle. It was made by U.S. Rubber and had "radio" written on it and lightning flashes embossed in the rubber. I've never seen or heard of it before so must be fairly rare.

I still have the bag (not the hose or noz), and its in great condition - the rubber is still soft with no evidence of aging.

I got them from the exact same bag. It lasted until I was about 16. When she was pouring the soapy solution into the bag, it split along the side. That didn't stop her though, she got out the adult bulb syringe. It's nice to know that there is another here that got them from the radio bag. I also remember the green box that it came in.

About age 6, my Mom quit using the funnel and rectal tube on me and I "graduated" to receiving from the family bag. Standard 2qt hot water bottle with "Dexter" emblazoned on one side.

The gentle & slow nature of the funnel was gone and I viewed "Dexter" as a hostile devil with it's hard black nozzle and intense pressure. I searched in the bathroom and found the funnel and tube. Hid it in my closet. The next time I was "due" I got out the funnel rig and asked for it instead of the family bag. Answer, "No, you are more grown up now."

Dreaded Dexter was a part of my life for the next two years when I 'won' ownership of a bag of my own! I've no clue as to the manufacturer.

I noticed Redbags' post about a Canadian bag, Viceroy.

Our family used to visit friends at their cottage in Canada. I remember they had both an open top, and a water bottle attachment set bag, that was marked Viceroy. I had several encounters with Viceroy and one of the things I remember was the nozzle was a little larger than the enema nozzles we had at home being wider with a narrow taper. It wasn't uncomfortable.

My mom had a rexall victoria artweave combination syringe. Red with red tubing, silver shut-off, and black pipes. I have not been able to find one like that anywhere. Has anyone?

I have an authentic Rexall Victoria red open top fountain syringe 2 quart for sale. I bought it on ebay and have not used it myself.

It does not say artweave. it has black screw on infant and douche nozzle (no adult rectal nozzle). It has the original box.

I get a kick out of names like Endurance or Defender, which are appropriate names for an enema bag. Here are a few names that 'should have been' - The Texas Hold 'Em, The Intimidator, Euro Douche Bag (think about it...), El Crampador and The Fun Bag.

I just bought a red open top Cara bag today, from a small drugstore/pharmacy (not a big-name place - mom & pop) in Peoria IL, right off the shelf.

The bag itself is real rubber but the hose appears to be same vinyl(?) type that you find with most bags these days. Same type of white plastic douche and enema pipe attachments too.

I am pretty happy with the bag itself - the material, weight, etc. and the fact that it's an open top too, which seem to be getting harder to find these days off the shelf. Oh, and the hole to hang the bag is a single hole in the middle of the open-top. Last open top bag I had, had two holes at the top. Kinda dumb if you ask me. Plus that other one was some kind of plastic or vinyl type bag (cheap).

I can't wait to try my new bag... Open top rubber ones are the best in my opinion. Hope it "gurgles"! ???

In Ohio, Meijer chain stores carry the Cara line of bags. Their top of the line is in yellow rubber with that cheap white plastic hose. The shape of their open tops and the nozzles that are with it are suspiciously identical to the last one made by Davol, before they got out of the flat rubber goods business. I think Davol sold their rubber molds and nozzle molds to Cara. I have one and a very late Comfy open top by Davol; the shape of these bags is identical.

I was first associated with the Rexall brand, then Faultless now Cara in pale yellow. Decent quality for the Cara except for the cheap white hose. Not like the good old days where the entire apparatus was made well.

I don't remember the manufacturer's name of our family enema bag back in the 50's, but it was in a Walgreens box. The box was rectangular, blue and white, and about 4 inches deep. Just as Dad's toolbox was his domain, the enema equipment belonged to Mom and she took good care of it (and never hesitated to use it).

Inside was a 2 quart red rubber combination syringe bag with a black bakelite stopper attached to the top by a small chain. The front of the bag was covered with soft rubber "fins" and the back was smoothe. The long red ribbed rubber hose was always coiled neatly around the bag. The nozzles included black child and adult size enema, a black curved douche nozzle with bulbous end, and a thick white rubber douche nozzle with a molded shield. After use, the equipment would hang for days on the towel bar at the back of the tub drying out.

Although the pics of old equipment (like on ebay) bring back great memories, nothing beats my clear silicone Klystra gear.

I grew up in the 50s and 60s getting bathroom enemas from mom's Miller Cameo enema bag. Was a lovely looking classic styled enema bag and apparently my RN mom liked the embossed "Cameo" on the front of the enema bag. It always looked so erotic when filled and being hung on the bathroom shower rod as I recall. Was always a thrill to be called to the bathroom and seeing the Miller Cameo enema bag, filled to the top, hanging there and knowing that shortly all that warm soapy water was going to be filling my bowels. Brings back such pleasent memories to me still to this day.

Anyone ever see a Miller "Flaming Beauty" syringe? Miller was a division of B.F. Goodrich Co.

Pirelli rubber also made enema bags and syringes.

I remember a black, closed top bag from when I was a kid. It was pretty nice. Made of a soft, almost gum type rubber. It stretched so that you could pressure fill it to hold a lot. Now, my favorite bag is a six quart soft rubber bag I bought from enemabag.com. Not cheap, but worth every penny.

Back in the 60's Walgreen's ran specials where you could buy a 2 qt fountain syringe with 3 attachments and get a second one for 1 cent more. What a deal.

Rexall Drugs also used to have the "Buy one, get another for a penny" sales quite often.

Too bad I was too young at the time to have enough sense to stock up.

I was glad to see a listing of enema bags that included that name because I was beginning to think that I had imagined it. Can these be bought anyplace anymore?

I can't remember the brand name of the family's first enema bag. It was red rubber with red rubber tubing and black hard rubber nozzles. My grandmother and also my aunt had almost exactly the same bags, the first name i recall was 'Cara' and then the soft, exotic, erotic 'Contessa' folding syringe. The Contessa was my first experience with a latex bag.

The only bag name i remember was my grandmothers. It was a bf goodrich. Don't remember if it had a more specific name though. It was dark red bag (open top)and hose, and had three black nozzles. An adult and child rectal and a douche nozzle. They were screw in type to an attachment that slipped onto the end of the hose.

The W.T. Grants stores sold an enema bag called the "Everyday". we had one in our house and I had enemas with it. I still have that bag.

My mother used a Davol Comfy closed top enema bag. It had a black baseball type enema nozzle and a black douche nozzle. There was a silver metal shut off clamp, I remember the snap the calmp made when it was opened and then the rush of the water flowwing in, then the snap of the clamp and the water would stop, the bag and the hose was red rubber, the nozzles and the stoppers were black plastic, the box was a dark green with light green printing.

The bag my mom used on me when I was a kid was a Viceroy, red with a red hose and a black plastic tip that tapered from narrow at the tip to thicker and then narrower again just before the base.

I don't know the brand of bag or bulb at home as they were never in a box and had no marking that I remember. Since the local drugstore was a Rexall, probably that. My mom had a Marvell (spelling?) bulb douche she kept in the box. She never used it on me saying it was not necessary to douche regularly but I tried it myself one time out of curiosity when I was home alone. It must not have impressed me much because I only used it one time but I was giving myself enemas with the enema bulb when ever I could.

My grandma had a BF Goodrich combination bag which was used on me a few times. She kept it in the box.

The first bag I bought for myself was a Faultless folding syringe. The kind with the yellow latex bag.

My first bulb I bought for myself was a Walgreens, which turned out to be a private labeled Faultless.

Mom had a Wearever Journey Gem tucked into the bottom of the medicine cabinet. It was clearly visible throught the opaque glass that covered the lower 8" of the cabinet. I had many happy encounters with that bag and the douche nozzle that came with it. Our next door neighbors had two girls, one my age, the other about 5 years older. She would often baby sit us when my parents were out. When my parents left, I was in the bathroom, filling that bag with warm soapy water. Diane was always at the bathroom boor asking if I was ok, as I was in there a long time. I knew they were no strangers to the red bag, as a Nearkid bag hung on the back of their bathroom door. With the sounds coming out of the bathroom, she HAD to know what I was doing, but never said a word to me about it.
