One of my earliest memory, although I did not understand it at the time, was the bulb.
Every evening, before bedtime, I was given a bath. The tub was filled for me and I was then called into the bathroom. My clothes were taken off and put into the hamper. I must have been seven or eight at the time. Then I stepped into the tub and sat down in the warm water. After some sloshing around, I got out and was toweled dry and tucked into bed.
Unknown to me, my underwear probably got a check for "skid marks" before going into the hamper. Sometime during the next evening I was probably asked "Have you been to the bathroom lately?" although I don't remember it specifically. Around bedtime, I could hear the tub being filled and I was called into the bathroom, as usual. I noticed that the sink was filled with milky-looking water and there was a red object, about large orange size, with a white washer and black tube sticking up in the air, sitting on the sink rim, but didn't think much of it. Little did I know. LoL
I was undressed as usual and was about to step into the tub, when I was told to face the toilet, spread my legs some, bend over, and put my hands on the toilet seat. A couple of seconds later, I felt fingers parting my butt cheeks and the nozzle go into my opening and a sudden rush of warm water. I was then told to get into the tub and I did. I played as usual for a few minutes, then started to feel the need to poo urgently and said so. I wast told to get out and sit on the toilet and wrapped in a bath towel and soon the enema started to work to my great surprise. Obviously, this was entirely expected. When I was done, my mom always looked in the toilet before I was allowed to flush. I didn't know why at the time.
It took several similar sessions before I realized what was happening, and eventually went exploring in the medicine cabinet where I found the bulb and figured out its purpose. It was like this:

It didn't take long to figure out how to use it, but the first few times I was quite surprised at the effect it had. Fond memories of childhood.
