Every time I see the name of this thread, I think of the song "Just an old-fashioned love song" and I giggle to myself. As you were.
Old fashioned to me is the red 2 qt bag and hose with its black nozzle coated with Vaseline, used frequently in our house back in the '50's and '60's. Also the red rubber 8 oz bulb with the black nozzle for the kids. Old fashioned enema sessions were matter-of-fact affairs, and always too hot, too soapy and too much. Great memories.
I agree a old fashioned enema is good. Not too much soap, not to much volume. Using a bulb enema with a bat style nozzle. Enamel bowl for water and given slowly. Lie on your back with legs raised on a pillow. Wait between insertion and have the giver rub your tummy. Will
I'm into the old fasihon enema . The Devol comfy combination bag that Mom used on us .she mixed Ivory Snow and warm water . Gave if easy , no forcing, just clicking the flow on and off as we got cramps and they passed. Asking us to try and hold it, asking us to take just a little more.
Just an old fasioned enemawarm soapy water running slow...And wrapped around the moaning is the sound of someone telling you they have to "go".OK, someone else take it for the next phrase.

There was nothing fancy about the enemas that my mother gave us. A red combination bag with red hose and black nozzles. The solution was Ivory soap and the nozzle was lubed with Vaseline. Not exactly rocket science but they sure did work like she wanted them to.
I will take or give a old fashion enema anytime. . Just a little ivory snow, and warm water. I have the old Devol Comfy Combination bag with the original red hose and black nozzles and connectors in the at green box, that Mom used on my sister and I.

Off topic but mention of the red tubing brings back memories... when mom got really mad she would spank me with it...
Remember that Ivory came as, "Ivory Flakes and "Ivory Snow". They were 2 different soaps in a box. Ivory flakes were grated flakes of Ivory soap. Ivory Snow was a granulated powder that was used to wash clothes. I think the "Snow" formulation had some stronger detergent in it. My mom and grandma used only Ivory Flakes in enemas.I had a great grandmother who used Ivory Flakes to brush her dentures! Her breath always smelled nice.

Thanks so much!
My idea of old fashioned is the red bag hanging on the bathroom door with the white tubing and nozzle. A pitcher of warm water with a bar of Ivory soap in it and a jar of vaseline next to it. Bottoms up!
What do you mean by an old-fashioned enema? From today's medical perspective, enemas are an old-fashioned, outdated treatment method. But we don't want to miss out on it.I too am attached to the old rubber bags, rubber bulbs, rubber hoses, the exciting irrigators, the old-fashioned Bakelite nozzles, etc.The circumstances of these enemas have changed. In the past, these were necessary for me from the point of view of others, but were not accepted in my childhood world. Today I only assign 5 to 10% to the health aspect, the rest to the erotic, sexual side. That should also answer the question of why people are at Zity...🤗😎
Old-fashioned is right. I think my sister and I were to only ones that got them. None of my friends even know what they are. Mom said the enema bag she has is very old. She said you can't get one today.
If one defines old-fashioned as using a rubber enema bag filled with warm, soapy solution, and the bag is attached to a soft rubber tube that can reach higher up when I need it, then the enemas that I take when I’m feeling tied up inside are old-fashioned. Simple, but it sure works!Any older-fashioned would be my husband using a funnel and pouring soapy water through a rubber tube up my butt.
@Vicki_V YES! Thank you. That is clearly my definition of an old fashioned enema. I would have liked to have had a funnel and hose enema with soapy water. I’m sure it would clean you out very good. I can’t imagine the feelings…..
I enjoy a good enema from time to time, but also have a preference for drinking old fashions. Not sure that I want to combine the two, but retreating to the bathroom with an old fashion might be something to try, except not from the bag.
@Friendly_Thinker"Seems much of my love for enemas is related to the look a fountain syringe bulging full."Anyone who's ever laid in bed and looked up at a full enema bag hanging over them has got to feel excited, freaked out, or something! It's a sight that affects our emotions and heightens our anticipation!
I'm not exactly sure what an "Old-fashioned" enema is. Perhaps just enemas administered from a bulb or a fountain bag, as opposed to the chemical disposables are "old fashioned". As one who grew up getting enemas twice (or more often) weekly, I will agree that for me, a "real" enema comes from a bag, bulb or piston syringe and is one quart or more in volume. It may be plain water, or contain soap or other additives to relieve constipation, administer medications, cause relaxation or sexual arousal. To that point, I submit that it may be an old-fashioned enema, but it is certainly NOT "just" an old fashioned enema! Savor every drop!
I would call an old fashioned enema as being called into the bathroom. Lying over someones lap on a towel just like when I was a little girl, having my panties lowered and my shirt pushed up. Then hearing the lid of a jar of vasoline being opened as I was prepared to receive the treatment, the feeling of the sticky vaseoline being spread on my anus. Then the feeling of a rectal thermometer being inserted to take my temp first. Then the thermometer being removed and being replaced with a well greased enema nozzle being slowly pushed in. When I was a young girl these things were tolerable until it got to the click of the clamp being released and the warm soapy water flowing in, that is when I would start to wiggle around, my Mom would slap my bottom hard and I would stop wiggling and start to cry but that is all it took for me to be a good girl and not fight it. But the solution my Mom used caused lots of bad cramping and burning sensations I just couldn't stay still. Those are my memories of an old fashioned enema!! Got them twice a week.
I can define it like " oil in syringe "My mom hot it when she was teen and ig it's not usable nowdays
I try to stick to the basics - soap and/or Epsom salts in 2 quarts are the usual enemas I use. If I use lemon juice or molasses and milk it is rare. My sub likes and enjoys the basics. The others are more for cramping and a different enema experience.Simple can be very effective.
I remember my first enema when my mom took me to a retired nurse at her home. She was old to me at the time, like 60 when I was just 8. But I remember a white metal can, red hose and black nozzle. Also remember not having a good experience. However as an adolescent, I began to somewhat like them.
The ancient Egyptian pharaohs had a "Shepherd of the Anus" to administer enemas using a hollow reed. That should count as old fashioned!
That is me but I also enjoy other enemas. But a 1 quart hot water soap suds followed by 2 quarts of clear water works for me.
