Klystra Out Of Business

Did Klystra ever even have a physical shop?

I was of the understanding that, in the pre-internet days they sold through a catalog.

I bought my Klystra bag about 1-2 yrs ago. My understanding is the company moved from Hawaii to California and is run by children of the original owner. I used snail mail to order (go to their site and look at contact us at bottom of page-they have a Fremont CA address, which is what i used). They missed the order initially, then when i called, they located and filled it promptly. So, not sure what the problem is now. I wonder if new operator is not as committed to klismaphilia as original owner. Product, though, is high quality and has delivered gallons of enjoyment.

Well, guess what! Their web site today has a message at the top that he has been sick and he is processing orders and getting refunds. I'm cancelling my order and requesting a refund/credit anyway, just in case he reniges (sp.?) on his words and I still don't get the mdse.

OK here goes George who started Klystra passed away a few years ago. Either his son or son in law is running it now. As far as I know it looks like he is selling off the supply he has I do not know if he is going to keep it running or not. Would be sorry to see them go cause they are the only supplier of neet enemas stuff.

I'm guessing that the message on the Klystra website was most likely prompted by the recent messages posted here. Whether the info on their website is sincere or not ......... you be the judge.

Arthur, I like your idea, but it is not as simple as a yes or no. While it could be useful and helpful, it could also be open to abuse, and I don't know how to keep the abuse out.

Using Klystra as an example, they have competitors. Their website even warns about other companies selling knockoffs, items that look like Klystra's but are not of the same quality. One such company is Cleanstream. Cleanstream sells on Amazon and, I presume, elsewhere. Here's where my concern comes in. If Zity had a forum for equipment concerns like you envision, what would prevent a competitor from creating a Zity account, making a few harmless posts, then blasting someone like Klystra with whom they compete? Maybe there is no way to prevent it and we just take our chances. On Zity, we have a lot of honest fact and experiences conveyed, but we also have a lot of fantasy and fiction. All well and good until someone blurs the line and passes fantasy or fiction off as fact.

From reading Zity for over two years, I know many members have been satisfied customers of Klystra. I have not ordered from them myself, but have come close a couple times. I sincerely hope that the recent problems encountered are the result of illness and not the result of deteriorating business character.

Finally, Thank you for your service to Zity as a moderator. You and your colleagues deserve a lot of credit.

Not a good idea arthur. Where members trade with those who have a 'good' report - and are unhappy about their own experience, guess who are going to be blamed. This site, it's Administrator and Moderators. of course.

No, if we are going to allow mention of traders, or other websites, it should only be in reply to "where can I buy....item".

This site isn't here to be Prosecutor, Judge or Jury - nor are it's members. The internet in general carries quite enough Forums, which are dedicated to specific traders.

I disagree. The quality of the company's service and products should be readily posted. There is no reason not to. All types of companies get reviewed by users on the internet. Fetish companies are no different. If they are good-tell others, if they are bad-also tell others.

I haven't purchased from Kylstra in the last few years because my husband and I have quite a cache and are probably the reason recent orders are "out of stock" 😁 but I have always had good service from them.

Klystra is now run out of California. George, who ran it out of Hawaii passed away, and his daughter and son in law were running the company. I don't know what could be going on. I have ordered since the company opened, and always had excellent, fast service. I haven't ordered in probably a year or more. I would say to send a registered letter, asking what the problem is.

Those interested could check on available stock if any @ medicaltoys who carry Klystra products..NOTE :There is an advisory posted by medicaltoys that the larger 750cc double was no longer available from Klystra....perhaps the standard 500cc could be.

I just looked at the Klystra home page. At the top is a note dated 6/26 saying that he had been sick and the person he hired to run things had not done well at it, so things were a mess. He said he was going to go to work right away and make things right. So, give him the benefit of the doubt. He makes good products and I would hate to see him go out of business.

I'm glad to hear that at least there is a good reason. Over the probably 18 or so years I've ordered, first from George in Hawaii, and then from California, the service was always top notch!!!

Well, time has surely proven that all my previous statements about dear old klystra.com are true.

Over a month now that I placed an order with them, they took my money the very next day, and here today, July 15, no merchandise received, no personal explanation, no returned phone calls, no replied-to emails, no return or reply to a "snail mail" letter I sent. Nothing but their lame, BS explanation on their web site: "I've been sick and am just now doing somewhat regular catching-up...etc., etc.". That explanation has been there now about 3 weeks.

I'm going through hell to get my nearly $100.00 back, which so far they've refused to do or just plain don't give a shit. I have only one possible recourse, which is my bank filing a claim with MasterCard, who may have some improbable contact with the bastards and demand a refund or risk disassociation.

So, buyer beware! Don't even think about buying anything from them. They'll just take your money and run.

I read on the page of another reseller that all stuff from Klystra was " Out of stock "

7 days I write to Klystra to have some tought about the possibility to send me an item, no answer at this day.

That's such a shame. I purchased my JBL from them a few years ago and the delivery was great.

It has been a few years since I've ordered from Klystra, but ALWAYS had great service and fast delivery time. I was #5 in George's "buyers club" (an investment of $100 at the time brought a 40% discount on purchases), and stocked up on some great equipment.

I have also ordered since it moved to California, and again, had excellent service...including Bob tossing in one of their fantastic stainless steel pot scrubbers, that I used to clean the kettles of my popcorn machines.

I haven't ordered for a while, simply because I don't need anything else; but would not hesitate to so again.

I also still have NOT heard a word or received the order I placed on 6/17. I called yesterday and politely asked for the status of my order. No reply yet. I am going to PayPal and start the process of getting my $70 back. Waiting a month for 4 items listed as in stock is as patient as I can be.

I finally heard from Klystra. I initiated a claim with PayPal. Within an hour I got a reply saying my order has a new status...CANCELED. I guess that means he'll refund my money to my PayPal account. That seems strange to me because I did the claim at 7:45 Eastern which would be 4:45 Pacific. He doesn't open until 10 AM Pacific time. We'll see how long the refund takes. Apparently he is out of business and wants no more business. We will have to find another reliable source for good heavy duty items.

That's sad.

It's the end of an era.

I just went to klystra.com using two using Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Firefox. I also went to Amazon.com for klystra products. I got the usual home page without any trouble or outside message such as Enemadonna quotes. I do not know what is going on between her and Klystra, but without having ordered anything from Klystra, all that I can say is that it looks to me like it is still good. Check it out for yourself.

Hank, you're not addressing the whole issue here. You need to read this entire thread, which goes back to June. It's this information I received today, plus the whole matter of me being stiffed by klystra for almost $100. I paid it, they accepted it, but I never got the merchandise.

Wow...I've ordered a lot of equipment from them...I knew they were having troubles getting inflatable nozzles \from their supplier but thought they were getting those issues addressed...Last time I was on the website there was a message that he had been sick and was behind on filling orders but her was getting caught up...must have been a bit worse then I thought...

Klystra.com have a problem, now please let US staying cool,

being cool will be more helpfull to not warned members about klysra problem,

there is no reason making troubless together,

better to know and communicate about that problem.

Sad to hear that Klystra may be gone. They have been one of my trusted sources for many years...and their four quart bags are hard to beat! Oh well, the times are changing and good things seems to pass quietly into the night. My favorite local burger joint just closed....and now Klystra! What is the world coming to??

OK, I'm going to barge in here probably not knowing the whole story anymore than any of us do now but seems someone knew who the principals of the company were at one time and that their were now offspring running the company (that I suspect could care less about running ti from the fine job with Customer Service they are doing). Does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this? Seems lie to me this is an entrepreneur's dream. If you didn't get what you ordered, make them an offer to take over the company yourself. You can deduct the price of your item from the sale price and you'll be able to run it just the way you want to. Hopefully better than it is now. If the offspring are tired of it it might be the deal of the century for a Zity member
