The "times" have certainly changed. 30 years ago, a stay in the hospital for nearly any illness, or need, was much longer than today's. Days in ed with lack of exercise, meds, and surgical prodedures, usually meant an enema was needed at some point. I got them from a variety of Nurses. Some who hated doing it, some who enjoyed it, and in small city hospitals, often from a nurse I knew outside of the hospital.
Today any kind of filling enema is the very LAST resort, after pills, supps, or a Fleet. If these modern treatments fail, you may ahve to beg for a real enema, and yes, you will suffer much longer than the "old days." Walt
