Suppository Retention

Guys, I have often wondered what other guys do when retaining a suppository for it to work. The reason I asked this is I witnessed my best friend from college take one when we were in our mid 30's (I am 44 now) and pull his boxers shorts up and then we went to breakfast. We were on a nascar weekend trip. As we progressed eating breakfast he made comments like man this thing is starting to work...after about 15 minutes he got up and ran to the bathroom. I just wondered what other men do while holding? Usually I keep moving. I had to use one last Sat am..after a long businss trip, I had to clean up the yard limbs so I just held it while doing that & in about 15 mintues it kicked in, I ran to the bathroom and got relief.

Let's face it espank39, when suppositories "kick in" you had better be close to the bathroom, you might be able to delay things with a decent sized butt plug but not for long. When that URGE strikes your body takes over and you are no longer in control.

I usually try to relax and lay down while it works. I think it's important for the suppository to get inserted well up into the rectum, usually laying on your side is a good way to insert it, and then hold it while you are laying down. Sometimes I will sit in a chair and retain, but find it easier if I lay down for awhile.

The standard Dulcolax suppository will also do the trick. They are still used by the medical community in the hospital setting. They work best if you insert the suppository and make sure it is up against the wall of the lower colon. 10-20 minutes is what it takes it is quite effective in producing the desiered results if the colon just needs a little boost and there is something to get rid of.

Well, I'm a chick, but since I just had this experience I wanted to comment. My boyfriend stuck six in me, then played with me till I came. Then we went outside to smoke, and I was about halfway done when I felt "it", and had to run back inside the house. Glad we didn't decide to go grocery shopping!

Game with suppositories though you need a partner. You'll need a packet of about 12 and writing paper and a pen and a clock, get set, note the time, insert the first one on say the hour. Get writing about everything you are thinking, 5 min later insert another and go back to your writing and repeat every 5 min .

Sounds simple but try it especialy keeping to time. By the time you get to 5 or six you get to see how intense this is, i have only got to 8 .

Have wondered what happens if a butt plug is inserted after a suppository (with something to hold the plug in ) i have seen a video on this site of a man doing this to a girl, but didnt get to see the result !

I used to just sit on the toilet while I held them but I usually couldn't hold them long at all. I recently started laying in bed while I hold them and I seem to be able to hold them much longer which is nice because I can savor the feeling longer.

A friend on this forum told to try suppositorys and I did. I waited and waited , but realy did nothing. Maybe I need to use more than she told me to use .lol Will try again later. Vermeer

I've had nothing but bad luck with suppositories!

Get them all the way in, though and they dissolve. The delay can be as long as with oral laxatives.

Now that I am an adult, and a college graduate, my father, who raised me as a single parent, relayed me this story!!!!

It will drive anyone away from suppositories!

I was working the 2-11PM shift at a job site a little over an hour's drive away.

I got up one morning feeling like I had to poop, but couldn't I did not want to miss any work time having to go to the bathroom at work. I took a generic Dulcolax Suppository at about 6:30 AM.

That time, I didn't get any burning, but 30 minutes or so later, I got a small poop. I figured it had done what it was going to do, and went about my day.

Things were uneventful, but at lunch, I got a little more noticeable "gut rumbling" than usual.

I left for work as usual, and I was not under way 15 minutes. I was glad I was in the car by myself, because I started passing large amounts of gas! This was around 12:30 or so! As I got closer to work, I started to feel like I had to poop, but I decided to wait, since I was not that far away.

Once I got to work, that was where the trouble started!!!

I had to hurry up and clear security, and head directly for the restroom! Once I got there, it was as though the entire content of both upper and lower bowels had liquefied!! It took me so long to finish I was actually a couple of minutes late. That was not enough to get noticed but, I had to run to the restroom every 30 minutes, and pass liquid. By 6 PM, I was passing pieces of undigested food!

I had to make up a story about food poisoning, and even though I was able to sell that, I got written up for excessive bathroom breaks! By the end of the shift, the running to the bathroom had stopped, but when I got home, I still had one loose bowel movement!!

Next day, it was over with, thank god! things were normal!!

Still, I now only use suppositories as a pre-enema, no longer use them by themselves! It's enemas for me if I get into that situation again!!!

I have never used anything like a laxative suppository. I was into oral laxatives for years to avoid enemas (silly me) and always hated the unpredictability. Finally I came to my senses and reverted to enemas. I found I actually enjoyed them. I use Prep H for sun and to relieve pain after being too playful sometimes but chemical suppositories and fleet enemas will never meet my rectum.

I don't see why anyone would want to use a suppository when enemas are so much better, maybe it's just me.

Hi. I use glycerin suppositories very often and mostly for fun. I take the suppository in the bathroom and sit on the bowl until the suppo starts working. When I get a cramp I stand up and cross my leg to avoid that the suppo come out. That happens several times until I decide to go about 20mins after insertion. The more cramps and the longer retention the better for me.

I always try to keep busy after inserting a suppository or two or more 😉 . If I try to lay back and relax I think too much about it and end up going before they really get to work.

Same here, I do anything to keep my mind off it. I watch TV, check email, do some exercise or clean up around the house. Sometimes, I've even chatted on the phone while a suppository was at work.

When I'm out on camping trips with my buddies, I've inserted them and played poker around the fire while they worked. It was always funny when they start to work, because I start shifting my position and crossing my legs to keep my cheeks closed. They would try to make me laugh to make me shit myself.

As for me i insert one, wait about five minutes or the urgency starts, back to the john drop my shorts give myself 2 quick slaps on the ass and insert another one. After 20 minutes sit on the john and relax till all is out.

With a glycerine suppo inside I walk around for at least 45 min., with a CO2 laxans inside I usually sit at the pc at home. When I'm waiting for a dulcolax, I wait near the toilet in a mall or walk around in it...

I agree. I use three suppositories when i'm bunged up, but if i'm not next to the loo pants down when the urge strikes i would have some very full pants.

I would assume a medical site might list the various times to effectiveness of various suppository types. Has anyone found such a thing?

Hi kevin.L i myself like to hold 4-5 suppositories inside while walking in local mall until its starts kicking in and need to go to the toilet. how many do you hold in?

I have finally been able to retain 2 glycerin suppositries for 30 mins...this is my record so far.

My playdoc put a couple of suppos in then follows it by a vibrator or e stim and then puts a nappy on. I have to hold them for about half and hour and by then I am very desperate!

I have been able to retain 1 glycerin suppository all night but in the morning I went very quickly in bathroom! This is my record to retain suppositories.

I can hold 2 dulcolax suppositories for half an hour...of course the toilet must be nearby...and in case i go out while retaining them...i use a plug usually...it needs no telling of how severe the cramps can get with dulcolax. 😃

Well, one gylcerine suppository is not a big challenge. I usually take 2 or 3 and hold them for about 1 hour.

Wow rosebud you really have endurance if you can hold two dulcolax suppositories for half an hour.

Hello Analee, I really like your comments. Cultural differences are interesting and I would like to explore this issue with you at your leisure. I frequently use an adult glycerin suppository and two Dulcolax suppositories at the same time. Then I'll put on a good disposable diaper and sit viewing this site for more than a half hour. At first I just get rumblings of things to come. If I have plenty of time I'll wait out the suppositories while I'm sitting and have an uncontrollable movement. Otherwise I can stand up and walk around and the movement will occur sooner.

There is no problem to hold two Dulcolax suppositories for half an hour. In the case that you insert these two ones in your anus at least for 15 cm the urge will occur far later.
