Oh Dr T I really hope Sexy doesnt read your post. At the moment She has only left the cath in for about 5 days. Think that if she knew she could leave it for up to 30 she would really have some fun. yicks. lol
I used my new catheter that I got the other day and left it in for about 3 1/2 hours or so and while I done this I made sure to drink plenty of water so I would not get into any trouble upon removal.
The longest I have had a cathe in was for a week for medical reason. I did have a few erections during that time. I have never had intercouse with one but have had a few orgasm with one. The first time it felt funny but didn't hurt. Just be sure it not to large like a 20fr or above.
Well Sexy hasnt read the post yet, but she has discovered leg bags. She is having way to much fun keeping my bladder empty.
The longest that i have kept a catheter in so far has 13 hours and that was this past Sunday. Some of the time i would have it open and draining into a bag and other times I would clamp it off and let it build up in my bladder then i would release it. I think I had a total of 4000ml of urine that day but I was also drinking some alcohol and water for most of the day. As well as I have to take 3 different HBP medicines so that makes me urinate a lot on thier own. Anytime i play with my catheters i remember to drink plenty of water so that everything flows clear and runs smoothly.
All these posts about using catheters for extended time. I've tried to leave a catheter in for just a few hours, and its bothered me so much, I can't see how anyone puts up with the irritation. Maybe I've got something going on. I do have an enlarged prostate. At this stage I think I'm going to need a catheter at some point.... Does the irritation lesson quickly? Is there a trick to avoid irritation?
I had a catheter in for 15 days following surgery to remove a cancerous prostate. No erections any time during that time or since. July 26, 2007 was the date of surgery; so, I'm guessing my last erection was July 25, 2007. Damn, I miss getting hard.
I think this needs a bump. Curious as to how long other people have left catheters in for play/endurance purposes. There's something exhilarating about leaving it in long term and accepting your fate. I'm currently cath'd and at my record of 76 hours. It comes out in 7 more hours unfortunately... Wearing a 16fr 30cc and its too comfortable.Removing the catheter is usually easy when taken slowly, but I'm wondering if it will hurt more the longer it stays in. Let's hear about your experiences.
A past mistress introduced me to sounds and catheters, and I enjoyed both of them.Fast forward to now, and aging has taken its toll – the symptoms you see in some of those commercials – urgency to void, and at night, the urgency to void, yet the inability to begin voiding, weak stream, etc. I began cathing at night, with a plug. When I woke and needed to go, I went to the bathroom and removed the plug, providing instant relief. To avoid waking up, I bought a leg bag and connected it so that I could sleep until the morning. Finally, I just decided to leave the catheter in all of the time. I usually change it after about three weeks of insertion.I wear a 30 Fr – 30cc catheter. In the beginning, latex ctahs were fine, but they began to burn a bit, so I now wear the silicone coated, latex caths. I used to be able to find 28 Fr – 30cc caths, but I can’t find them anymore. I sure wish they were made in a 30 Fr size. I’d buy them. Anyway, being cathed all of the time is okay. It’s simplified life for me.
As a woman I’m learning things or curious here at ziti. Now older I’m thinking before I fall into the category of....what if...someday I can’t fully empty my bladder. I’m not going to let a Dr let me suffer/go into a nursing place..oh nooooo...I’ll learn how to/and what to buy as far as catheters go, right here. Glad I’m here. No I’m not there yet...so glad, but ya never know.

No I’m not there yet...so glad, but ya never know.I feel the same! Inserting a catheter cant be more getnle, than you do it to yourself! There are many useful learning videos on youtube.Just a few inportant things:Be sterile!Use plenty of lube when inserting!Prefer to use 100% silicone catheter!Keep well hidrated all the time you wear it!Happy peeing!
I can wear a catheter for 30 days straight. Not a problem at all. I then changed it for a new one and start over with a new catheter. I hardly feel the catheter. I shower each day with my catheter in and make sure I wash it and my penis each day. I only notice that I have a catheter in me when my pee bag gets a lot of urine in it, over 500 ml. I wear a FR-30 with a 30-50 ml balloon. I inflate it to about 36-40 ml. Just over an ounce and a half of water in the balloon. I enjoy my catheter. I wish I could find a silicone catheter that is a FR-30 with a 30-50 ml balloon. I have to use a latex one that size. I enjoy wearing it a lot.My typing today was terrible. The small type doesn't help much either.
When Dad had his stroke and was incontinent, the Hospital fitted him up with a supra pubic catheter and he wore that for nearly a year until he died. regards, irrigator333.
Cathed for 5 days, removed for a quick trip for 4 days, then cathed again upon returning home. On day 2 now and I'm starting to not even notice it's there... Loving the convenience of being able to drink a lot of liquids and not have to go frequently. Will keep this one in until Saturday morning if all goes to plan 😃- No medical issues, purely cathing out of pleasure in a sterile environment with sterile practices. 16FR 30cc.
I've only had a catheter in my system for 5 days after an operation. Woke up from the op and the catheter was there. They noticed I wasn't producing urine, so the catheter was reinserted. Female nurse held my cock in one hand and removed and reinserted the catheter with the other hand. She apologised as she did it! Fortunately the urine flow started again after some medication.
I think once it was 5 days, not sure. Few times couple of days, day. It was 3 - 5 years ago. Non medical reason, for self pleasure. Want try catheter again for week or longer, but I`m afraid to go public with urine leg bag, and a little afraid of infection, guess I`m grown now and more careful now. But feelings was cool not having control of it.
When Dad had his stroke and was incontinent, the Hospital fitted him up with a supra pubic catheter and he wore that for nearly a year until he died. regards, irrigator333.Typically they change out a supra pubic catheter monthly. A bladder infection can be much more serious than a UTI. But yes, many people are permanently catheterized.
My urologist says I can wear a Foley Catheter for 30 days and then change it out for a new one.I have done that for almost a year.It does work. The nurse said the same thing. So that is what I am doing. She also said no more than 30 days and make sure I use very clean technique. So far I have not had any UTI's.I did have a couple of UTI's early on because I was stupid and now after learning what not to do, I have yet to mess up and get a UTI.
Silicone caths can run to 90 days without needing changed, though wouldn't like to go more than 30 - less risk of UTIs, encrustations around the catheter eyelets causing blockages or pain on removal etc.
I enjoy wearing one but after a few days the tip gets sore and it feels like the prostate seams a little sore, I have tried to tape it down comes loose with the sweat. ..I am not sure how some wear while they work like construction or a labor type job with a lot of walking and carry heavy items.
With respect to the OP, people pee about 100ml per hour on average, and people generally feel an urge to pee when there is about 300ml to 400ml in their bladders. So, it should be OK to clamp off a Foley for about that time.In hospital, they are generally not concerned until you have at least 600ml of pee in you, so you can probably clamp a catheter for perhaps 6 hours, which is likely more than long enough to discomfort someone. But individuals differ.
I just had a medical procedure done and they knock you out and when I woke up it was in. I had it overnight and lying flat on my back appreciated it. It sucks to pee into a urinal lying down. I also has a cute nurse the next day yank back the sheet and grabbed it to remove it. I can remember a nurse here telling me that they knock you out and then strip you naked. Worked for me. I also had the anesthesiologist tell me they were going to do an arterial blood draw. I had one done before and it was very painful. I told him no way unless I was out, he agreed. The nurse was laughing her ass off after he left and told me I was doing a great job!
Is it normal to leak a little for a little while after you remove a Foley Catheter after having it in for 3 days ?I seam to leak for a few hours after removing my Foley it's like the bladder valve did not totally seal completely for a few hours…Has anyone else noticed this…I am worried that I might become Incontinence Suggestions Thanks for your answers
It's quite normal for some slight leakage after a catheter has been in place for a couple of days. The bladder sphincter needs to adjust to not having the catheter balloon pressing on it
I have had some leakage after removing a catheter. I usually give my bladder a few hours rest, then insert a new catheter.Right now I have a very overactive bladder and need to pee a lot.I am supposed to get some Botox injections in a week to help stop the over active bladder. It worked the first time, but as many of you have known that Botox get absorbed into the body after a period of time. Thus the reason for me getting more Botox.Right now the catheter feels great.
I can wear a catheter for 30 days straight. Not a problem at all. I hardly feel the catheter. I only wear the catheter for fun. After a few days, I forget I have it. During the day, I have a drain valve on that I can open at any time, and at night I connect a 2000 cc bag.
Been wearing my FR 22 for 4 days tonight upped the game removed the 22 and inserted a 24. I was little uncomfortable for few hours but I got use to it, feels really good. I do this for fun. I will wear it until Monday morning and will remove it to go to my part time job.Be safe and clean and enjoy.
I know that I am supposed to change my catheter every 30 days, I called my urologist and asked if I could go 40 days because I wanted to change my catheter on the 1 st. of December. The nurse then started to ask some questions as to when the catheter was inserted, who did it, does the Dr. know you are wearing a catheter and a bunch more questions. She was going to check with the Dr. So I waited and waited. I called Friday to find the answer and I guess there was a mixup on our conversation. So now I have to call again Monday morning and see if I am supposed to change my catheter of if I go to the urologist's office find out if they are going to change it or if I am supposed to change it. I really want to go to the office and have them change my catheter. It has now been 43 days on Monday.

I don't know it is there unless I go to bed, go out or move around. I have to move my overnight bag. I don't know the catheter is in me at all. I have gotten so I rarely feel it. When I get into the shower I know I have it in me because this latex catheter is hanging out of my penis. That is all I know about it being in me. After I shower, I dry myself off and then re-attach my night bag, I then realize that I have a catheter in place. When I remove my catheter, when I have to pee, I just go, I don't have any burning, any other problem. I guess my urethra has gotten so used to a catheter being in it, I don't get any reaction.Have fun and play safe.

What exactly do you like about having it in for a long time? I’m glad you don’t have any burning or other unpleasant urethral sensations when you move it.Secondly, you mentioned taking it out to pee - did you mean just very infrequently, like once a month when you need to change it, or do you actually need it out whenever you pee? I thought the ability to leave it in a long time was that you could pee right through it into your collection bag or commode. I thought you said you usually change after 30 days. Thanks,Eric
