Within the last week, I have seen ads on television touting
Dulcolax,Miralax, Benefiber, Metamucil, Activia, Muselix
and a half hour long "infomercial" hawking a "colon
cleanser" which is packaged in a plastic can. Other
personal "health and beauty aids" that I have seen
promoted include diarhea medications, warming lubricants,
feminine sprays, also viagra, cialas, and most recently low
I saw a silicone clitoral stimulator made by Trojan
advertised. You name it and it is advertised prominently
and often on tv and often in prime time.
But what about enemas? Is there such a taboo on enemas
that you never see any advertising? Why won't the networks
allow advertising and education about this natural, time
tested remedy? Is a bulb or bag pictured in a drug store
box so taboo and controversial that it would cause more
controversy or public harm that the clitoral stimulator I
did see in the aforementioned ad?
Won't it take education and advertising to bring the enema
back from the dark ages into the light again?
