What size catheter do you use?

Graduated from a 22 to a FR24 tonight feels so good will sleep like a baby tonight only able to ware it one more day …Time to go back to work…but there is always next week end …

I haven’t been able to in a while, back at a 16, if I get back to using frequently I normally use a 20-22, done a 30 once but could only stand it in for a few minutes

I use a FR -30 with a 30 to 50 cc balloon all the time. I usually inflate the balloon to about 38 cc. It feels good to me. I have no trouble wearing a FR-30 all the time. I have worn a FR-30 for 90 days. Each 30 days I take the catheter out and insert a new fresh one. In fact I have had a FR-30 in since Monday of last week. I had my pacemaker replaced and I knew that they would't bring me a urinal fast enough, so inserted a FR-30 and had an overnight bag. I take lots of diuretics and so I knew I would be peeing a lot. I took my meds the morning of the procedure. At some point someone emptied my overnight bag and I had 1000 ml in it and I had nothing to drink for a long time.

Wearing a FR-30 is, or has become no big deal for me. If I wear a smaller one, I leak a lot of urine. I leak a very small amount of urine with a FR-30 in me now and then, doesn't happen very often. Even my urologists asked why such a big catheter and I told them. When they put a scope in me, it is an easy to insert.

I do like the feel of a catheter in me. Now that summer is over, I don't have to take it out to go swimming and I don't have a hot tub. Two of the things that you can't do with a catheter in you. The other thing is a bath, I don't have a bathtub to use so the things you can't do with a catheter in are not a problem.

I inserted a FR-30 catheter with about 36-38 cc in the balloon. I had a replacement of a defribilator coming up and I knew that getting a urinal would be at best a long shot, so I didn't want to wet the bed. I had to be there about 8:30 AM and the procedure didn't go off till about 12:30 PM. They drained my overnight bag about 11:00 AM and it had over 1000 ml in the bag. The procedure took about 40 minutes or there about, I was awake the whole time, the one nurse said she would going to sedate me, but I never went to sleep.

I was so thursty that a barrel of water would have been nice. Finally I got some apple juice and then some lunch. After lunch I got released, I think it was about 2:00 PM, not sure about the time.

I have had the catheter in me for 3 weeks tomorrow. I checked my output of urine each day. On Monday I put out about 5000 to 6000 ml. Tuesday it is about 4000 ml, Wednesdays it is closer to 4500 ml, Thursdays it is back down to 4000 ml, Fridays it is up to about 5000 ml. The weekend goes back down to 3500 to 4000 ml.

Monday's I take 3 different diuretics, Tuesday's only one diuretic, Wednesdays it is 2 different diuretics and thursday and the weekend only one diureti. Friday's are like Wednesdays two diuretics.

I will leave my catheter in until a week from Monday, which will be the one month for the catheter to be in me.

When I had a catheter in me the last time before my botox injections, when I walked my dog, about a mile each day, I had a tad of blood in my urine. When I told the nurse about it before my botox injections, she said that would happen now and then to people who have a catheter in them and the probable rubbing of the catheter on the wall of the bladder. Now when I walk that far now, I don't get any blood in my urine at all. I know a Duette cather would stop that, but they don't make one the size I need.

Today after 12 hours I had 2000 ml of urine in my bag. I drink a lot of water to make sure I flush my kidneys out a lot.

After the first few minutes, I don't know the catheter is in me at all. When I shower I see the catheter sticking out of my penis.

When I get my botox injections they use a FR-15 catheter, it slips in very easy and they get a urine sample and then inject my bladder with somekind of ansetic. I don't feel the needle when it goes into the wall of my bladder. I pee with some blood for a day or two.I get more botox injections in Feburary. I will most likely be wearing a catheter late December till Feburary. I go to the urologists office on my birthday to change my catheter and insert a new catheter to collect a urine same to make sure I don't have a bladder infection.

The first questions I get asked by all my doctors is, any night sweats, any fever, any back aches, the all ask to make sure I don't have a UTI. In the past they give me some drugs that darken my urine. I also get one of the same drugs when they inject the botox.

I find it has been an interesting 3 weeks, wearing the catheter is enjoyable and feels good. I don't know about about anyone else and wearing a catheter is in fact a pleasure.

I got several times a cath when I had my ski accidents. Don't know what size they used on me. But later I tried 14, 18 and even 20. Together with diapers for about 24 hours.

I like to use a 14/16 fr when I want to cath and produce an orgasm. I use a 18/20 if I am doing a bladder irrigation or some other type of sadistic procedure.

Mostly 16. But 18fr lately and want to try 20

I went from a 20 French to a 22 French Foley catheter Saturday night. The feeling of it being inside me is amazing I absolutely loved it. I can't wait to wear this for extended periods of time.

I have to wear a catheter 24/7 now and as my bladder passes a lot of lining slough I was started out with a 20fr. EVERY nurse and doctor since has kept trying to put in smaller cath's that plugged up, caused problems and caused me to have to go to larger cath's.

Now understand all my cath changes were by professionals. So i went from a 20fr to a 16fr {that caused me to have to go to the E.R.} to a 22fr and now to a 24fr. I'm still plugging it up. But instead of putting in a bigger one, no, I was given drugs that caused a form of dementia to stop stomach spasms. Why do I get stomach spasms ? maybe because the cath is plugged ? I have watched my drain hose and bag go from almost clear to blood red and big bloody chunks and back to almost clear in an hour or so with me almost screaming in pain. I don't want a larger cath but I need one. Hell i have even plugged the anti reflux valve in the drain bag !

My nurse is supposed to come either today or tomorrow to do a bladder flush. I did photograph some of the plugs that passed into the drain hose {large enough to almost plug the drain hose } And not only was it almost black like a blood clot , but had raw red bloody chunk to it. I just can't get anyone to understand what is happening because It's always clear when they see it

I'm no plumber, But as I see it, I need the largest that will fit and I will learn to live with it no matter how hard it is to live with. But I have to say, when they go to put in a 26 or 30 and someone starts to look for a lost wedding ring I'm going to clock someone

So I had 12fr to 18. I would say the smaller 12 to 14 was uncomfortable. 16fr was almost on the small side but the 18 was perfect. The smaller got plugged up so much and caused issue. The larger I would forget I had them in.

I use 14fr. I have also tried 16fr. However, 14fr was more comfortable for me, which is why I continue to use 14fr now.

Typically 16 or 18, sometimes 20-24. I’ve done a 30 it was a stretch for sure

16-18 usually, but have had up to 23. My prostate was removed so i have to wear ‘depends’ all the time because i leak. I usually wear one at night so I don't have to get up every few hrs to pee. I can hold it when I'm sitting or laying down and it's just tastier with a catheter, then I don't have to get up.

Tonight it is a fr26 my first time been FR24 for last month

I had a 20 Fr Foley for a couple years after my spinal injury when I couldn't walk and the nerves were down to my bladder. Couldn't tell when I was full and was unable to void voluntarily. Things are getting better. I can walk and I can tell when I'm full. I self-cath now, since the voiding still ain't working as advertised, and I'm using a 14 Fr for the self-cath.

I have had the best luck with a 16fr with a 10ml balloon. I have tried the 30ml balloon on a 16fr and it caused bladder spasms which were not fun. i don't have any issues with the 16fr so never really deviated from that size.

For me it was a Fr 14 w/ 5cc balloon at first, but now a Fr 16 w/ 5cc balloon feels about right. I have tried a F 18 straight catheter, but it is somewhat ouchie. The standard size used in hospital seems to be a Fr 16 latex with the 5cc balloon, inflated to 10cc.

After 5 years i made to a FR26 fits like a glove it just takes time..

I have just been moved up to a fr26 It's been in now two weeks and only today had to travail. Had to get a new phone, I broke my last one. It's been kind of painful all day, like a really long sharpie in me. If I sit wrong almost like a bruise inside me. Now I don't have a choice, It's what my nurse put in.

Oh the heady days of only needing a 20fr. I almost miss having to wear diapers.

18 Fr Bard Lubricath. It's comfortable and moves with me.

First time I had 12, 14, 16 and 18 inserted at hospital. Found the 16 to be the norm size and 18 and higher is reserved for clotting and what not.

Right now I'm using 16fr and and want to get to 18 and see what the differences are as I don't recall how the 18fr felt. I will say I use silicone as latex made this discomforting…

I wear a Asid Bonz silicone foley Catheter with a catheter valve in my underpant for up to 6 weeks. I go to work with it in and nobody recognizes it.

CH14 i dont feel anything at all.

I use a Foley catheter. Size FR14

24FR30CC and one will be replaced this morning by my PCP Nurse.

A couple months ago, I had to have a foley for a few weeks. They first put in a 14 but when it kept leaking, they put an 18 in. It was just right.
