N4i, Where did you get the surgical sturrips that need to be mounted on something? I have been looking for some instead of purchasing a complete exam table with them built in.
They're lithotomy stirrups. If you stalk eBay long enough you'll find a pair at an affordable price. They typically come with the hard stirrup and the rod arms. Some come with the stirrup boot liner. Few come with the adjustable clamps to mount them. The clamps are harder to find if they're not included. A nice pair of Yellowfin stirrups just sold the other day, didn't see the end price though.
The clamps mount to a metal rail that's about an inch tall and maybe 1/8 thick, I forget the exact dimensions. It's what the surgical table has on along the full length of the sides for mounting accessories. Clamps are either simple ones that just hold the rod arms or you can get fancier ones that tilt and rotate easily.
There are some medical equipment liquidators with websites that look promising, but I'm not sure if they'd verify a purchaser's status or not.
Not sure how I'm going to mount mine yet. For now I'm thinking of making a rail mount that will screw onto the headboard mounting slots of a fullsize bed frame. The patient could lie flat on the mattress. Just need some free time to work on it.
