A couple nights ago I tried agar agar again after an enema to cleanout. I used 8 Tbsp (1/2 cup) of agar agar powder and 2 quarts of water. Once cooled sufficiently, it was about 1.5 quarts of solution. I had a hand pump that I was using to inject it, but discovered that I was pumping in air with the solution. This was uncomfortable and prevented me from injecting the solution as quickly as I needed to. By the time I needed to stop, due to discomfort from the air I had injected, the solution had become too firm to continue injecting it anyways. I held what I had injected as long as I could, but it wasn't quite long enough to firm fully. I had to let it out due to the pressure of the air. It was much firmer than previous attempts and felt great, but I wish it would have lasted longer and I could have had more in me.
Now I need to seek out a better way to inject the solution and I need to modify my solution recipe. The next batch I make with be either 6 or 7 Tbsp agar agar to 2 quarts of water. I've been looking for large enema syringes or bulbs so that I can efficiently inject large amounts of the solution at once. So far I've found:
http://www.klystra.com/store/enema/douche-syringes/bulb-type/black-750-ml-bulb-syringe - This is huge and would hold half the solution. I my have to cut and sand the tip down for a larger opening. It could also be a hassle to clean.
http://www.medicaltoys.com/enemas2.html#SYR - This would take 9 refills to inject all of the solution.
I looked around at more industrial options and found this: http://www.harborfreight.com/oil-suction-gun-95468.html.
Anyone have experience injecting thick solutions and have feedback on the ideas above? Susie, since you recommended injection, is there any particular device that you've used and can recommend?
I will probably use one of my current bags for my next attempt, unless I determine a suitable injection option before then. If using a bag is troublesome again, I may pursue a Klystra bag due to their adaptability. Wonder if a JBL sit-on bag could work? I've always wanted to try one, but I'm not sure how well a thick solution would work or how hard it would be to clean.
