While I agree with 99% of this thread, I find it odd to reference what the BDSM community finds acceptable in this situation.
That type of "use", abuse, of medical profession is not looked upon as a good practice by BDSM members. You still had no consent from the doctor you used.
Personally, I'm starting to explore my own BDSM kink - and so far they are all great people. But that reference just seems a little incongruous for this discussion.
Anyway, my thoughts on the subject.
There is nothing wrong with carefully selecting what underwear you wear to your appointment, provided it's a style you normally wear and not overly sexual. Don't wear something that you wouldn't wear in other circumstances. If you wear briefs every day, don't go and buy a thong just for your doctor's visit, but if you want to switch from colored briefs to white, or Jockies to Calvin Klein, or boxers to briefs, go for it. I seriously doubt you'll offend the doctor by your choice of underwear, unless that's your goal and you focus on offensive underwear (in which case, don't do it).
Where I think the line is pretty clear:
- Don't wear kinky underwear (g-string, women's panties, sheer, mesh, or the like) - it's a professional appointment, not a date or kink party.
- Don't fake symptoms hoping for a certain exam or test. We have enough liars and content in the world.
- Don't make the doctor or nurse a participant in your kink .
If that's not within your ability, focus more of your time & efforts on finding a play partner who shares your kink.
