What's hot about speculums?

As someone with a pussy, I totally get the appeal on the recieving end (I just really like things in there). But I have never had a real gyno exam and I can't see what's exciting about it from the play doctor's perspective.

So this is my question to all the play doctors who like playing with speculums: What excites you about it? Are there specific exams you like to perform with it/while it's in? Please help me out here

I'd also love to know your opinion on vaginal vs anal speculums

It allows you to visualize a hidden, thus more intimate, part of a women's sexual anatomy, the cervix. In addition just the stretching open of the vagina is a dominant move.

Do you mean play doctors and not dominants @Pillow-Prince? I am not sure if you should have set different tags on this but I will change them if it should really be in Dominance and Submission. It is in the right place now if you mean play doctors though.

I have never conducted such an examination but am tempted by it. Here are, I think, my reasons:

- Having the woman (most likely my wife) submit to an examination that is not painful, but a bit uncomfortable, exposing, embarrassing. Mild domination, if you wish.

- Seeing body parts that only gynecologists and midwives have seen.

- The idea sounds fun and I want to try things.

Ok @Pillow-Prince thank you, I have edited the first post to say play doctor. It is clear now.

For me, I enjoy watching a woman's face as I slide it into her, open it, and then close to remove it. I have seen some women cringe just prior to insertion. Some relax as soon as they start to feel it slide in. The facial reactions and body movements are hot and exciting. I also enjoy seeing the inside and cervix.

I'm no play Dr but I hook up with my ex often and she was a nurse. She likes to tell me about exams more and more so I try my best to give her a good thorough exam. She's never thrilled at her gyno when the speculum comes out but loves to relive it later so I try to do my best to recreate it. She says she likes being opened up wide for me and I can see deep inside her. I love all of that and I snap a pic and show her my view. We have started using a rectal speculum as well which I I really like but have to be more careful. She says she gets off on being filled and spread wide back there as she has to be even more submissive to me for that part

As a play Doc and also a person with a significant speculum fascination. I can echo/affirm recent comments. The allure for me is the sense of having one of the most intimate areas SPREAD open and exposed. This is how I like to describe it:

So very much to the original point. It is about control, it’s about tools and instruments spreading and opening intimate areas leaving the patient completely exposed for the medical team to see. Similarly this ties into my enjoyment of operations as well.

Everything about speculums and speculum play is sexy and erotic for me.

My enemates and play patients get awfully wet when we get to this part of their exams.

The sweet smell of the vaginal juices, the exposure and swelling of the clitoris and the patient touching herself and telling me how she’s feeling.

Definitely show something that can only be seen by the person inserting the speculum and be forced to keep my legs spread for him

Fully agree the speculum should be treated similar to the injection syringe keeping it concealed from the patient to not cause additional tension in the patient.

A good doctor would try to not make it uncomfortable and it definitely should not be painful.

A speculum is intimidating. It could be cold, and it could hurt, but my doctor doesn’t do that to me.

Once my doctor puts it inside my vagina and opens it up, there’s some relief that it doesn’t hurt. To be honest, there have been times I’ve felt nothing and other times I can barely feel it and that gentle pressure from the inside almost feels good.

From a play doctor/fantasy perspective…

I think it’s about both control and exposure.

When she’s laying there, posed in such a vulnerable position, presenting herself for me to do as I will. Already she’s exposed, but the speculum takes it to a new level. Not only is she now even more vulnerable, being held open, but the act of opening the speculum exposes her very most intimate place, a place visible only to her doctor.

And the control aspect is important as well. It’s up to me, as the doctor, to choose how gently - or not - I insert it. Do I insert it slow and smooth, angled down, make it as easy as possible? Do I speed it up, possibly triggering those muscle contractions? Do I aim it a bit higher so it scrapes against her anterior wall and those sensitive places, her g-spot, her urethra? Has she been a good girl, or a difficult patient? It’s all in my control, do I open it just wide enough, or shall we see just how wide it goes? I’m finished now, or am I? It’s only been stretching her a few minutes, maybe I’ll leave it wide open for a while longer while I prepare my instruments or whatever I need for the next part of her exam.

(Of course, this is all under the guise of fantasy and isn’t meant to be anything besides the idea of dominance and control applied to medfet! Always play safely and with consent!)

Although this is requested from the play doctor’s perspective, I think another aspect of why I find speculums so tantalizing is how they make the woman feel. While having that control is nice - from a dominant perspective - the control means nothing if it doesn’t instill strong feelings and responses from your patient.

This is a post someone made in response to one of mine on my Tumblr blog. It was so … moving …that a little while after I had to write another short story in response. Does anyone else find this description compelling?

The chill, the stretch, the intense pressure... and perhaps most of all, the humiliation of clenching down around the blades and being unable to do anything to hide my innermost parts from view. The strain of clenching helplessly while the doctor is looking - and, if I'm lucky, touching/poking/prodding - at my cervix.

As a human who enjoys being on the receiving end of speculums as well as on the giving end, there's a different appeal for both sides. I enjoy examining people with a speculum because I like opening them up and exposing parts that aren't normally meant to be seen. I love seeing their cervix and having access to it. It plays into my impregnation fantasy. The thought that the cervix is so exposed and could be ejaculated on is exciting. I also like that certain speculums allow visualize of other hidden parts, specifically a collins speculum and being able to see and access the urethra. I enjoy sounding a patient's urethra while they are being spread open with a collins speculum. That's also a favorite scene for me to be on the receiving end of.

It adds to the realism. Also it definitely puts the woman in a vulnerable state and it's hot so seeing in go it and opening to check her cervix

I love being able to take a close look at my patients' unique vulva and vagina. I am also very interested in the patient's reactions to my examinations and treatments. How they may be aroused. I am particularly interested in looking at the portio and cervix with the speculum. The round cervix in a non-parous woman and the oval-shaped cervix in a woman who has given birth vaginally. For a quick inspection, I like to use a two-bladed speculum. For smears and other examinations, I use a metal self-retaining speculum and a tenaculum.

The beauty of the speculum, from my role as an examining doctor, is having full control over the patient, seeing the moment of emotion of the strongest woman... the emotion that the patient usually has is a combination of embarrassment, shame, lack of control. But there is also physical pleasure and the pleasure of being in good hands... for women it is important, beyond the pleasure of feeling the medical instrument, that their health is in the hands of a person who knows how to use the medical instrument well without creating pain or damage and know that the doctor really knows how to check the cervix

I think one of the best things is seeing the different reactions of the patients. Every woman has a different pain threshold and a different way of reacting

I would say that in the medical act of inserting a speculum, it generates two different consequences. The first one, which is for the person (pratician or partner role-play) who places the speculum, he will have the rare opportunity to observe the inside of a female vagina, a very intimate view that not so many people get the chance to have. The second one is concerning the woman receiving the speculum, she necessary is in a vulnerable and submissive posture, fully opened and indecent, even if she gives her consent to that. So I estimate this specific act is not at all a banality.

For me it is the opening of the woman's vagina and being able to explore it visually, as well as physically.

Plus, as @GlamourousCeleste mentioned. It is the completely submissive action that the woman must endure(enjoy). To be so intimately exposed to their partner/Doc.

As a dominant play doc and having read the comments here about using speculums on women/patients, I have a bit different view on them

First of all, I use them as a tool to illicit responses…anxiety… fear/ embarrassment… establishing the Dom/doc/… submissive/patient dynamic, to take control… to watch for HER responses… arousal… wetness… pleasure…

Not so much for the pain aspect… if I want to cause a little pain, I can enjoy big red butts and striped upper thighs of my “patients”

It also lends itself to the cold mechanical control that some women find so arousing

Once the speculum is slid inside, they are pretty much well into their submissive mindset

I can open the blades, step away from between her open thighs and she is still under my control

It’s almost like using a double balloon enema nozzle, once inserted and inflated, she becomes essentially “hands free”

Same thing with my trusty Collins speculum, once opened, her vaginal barrel is on display and unlike the duck bill speculum, my Collins exposes both the clitoris and her urethral opening…literally everything is on display and in my control

Some women want the stretch… the pain from a speculum, i want them to be anxious, but able to enjoy the session

As for anal speculums … they work doubly well to establish control and REALLY create embarrassment or humiliation
