Does the doctor watch you undress?

@Rick62 was that in the hospital? They seem to operate under a whole different set of rules around here. I had one girl, unknown if she was a nurse, assistant or the janitor, come in saying I have to get a sterile urine sample. I found out that meant I wasn't supposed to touch anything. She pushed my hand away, grabbed my penis and wiped it with a damp wipe, skun it back and repeated twice with another wipe. Grabbed another wipe and scrubbed the glans and meatus and put it in the cup asking if I could go. "If you can't I can make you." I still wonder how she was going to do that.

Another time a girl came in asking me to loosen my pants so she could check my back before putting a sticky pad on it. Then she stripped me completely to check me over before letting me get in the bed, all while several girls were emptying and cleaning the cabinet draws. No curtains drawn, then she left the room with me standing there naked. One of the cleaning girls noticed the corridor door was open and closed it. Then she just looked at me with a sort of knowing look. After 10 to 15 minutes the stripper came back carrying a gown to put on me before I got in the bed.

They just do their job with no regard for your modesty. Of course my doctor was like that too but in his exam room.

They usually leave the room while I change

I've always had to undress piece by piece. There was no changing room or anything like that, so the doctor watched or filled out some paperwork while I undressed.

I've never had anyone stay in the room while I got undressed, but getting dressed after a procedure is a different story. I've had several colonoscopys and cystoscopys, each time the nurse or medical assistant stayed in the room while I got dressed. Normally they turn away. After the first cystoscopy the medical assistant stood there facing me talking the whole time I got dressed, but then again, she had just watched the Urologist insert a cystoscope in my penis.

Oh last year I went to see a surgeon about getting a hernia repaired. After the usual questions, he told me to pull down my pants and underwear. I'm not sure what surprised him the most, the fact that I was wearing black cotton granny panties or the fact that I was completely shaved, but other than the expression on his face. he didn't say a thing.

I would be concerned if a doctor watched a patient undress. The first question might be, why did you have to undress, in the first place? I worked with a guy, who was in his 20’s, and still going to a pediatrician. I gave him a ride to the doctor. He was seen for anxiety attacks, yet, the nurse told him he had to remove his clothes, before being examined! For me, the whole thing was downright weird. Why would a pediatrician even continue to treat someone over 18? My pediatrician referred me to an adult gp when I turned 16.

Except when waiting for an X-ray or whatever kind of scan they do nowadays in a hospital, there have never been places where a doctor or nurse sends me to undress. It is usually done in the doctor's office while they are there. They don't make a point of staring I would guess and they sort of pretend to busy themselves with the computer or files. But still, they are in the same room.

Last time at my dermatologist she had a Muslim student with her, easily recognizable as such by her head covering. Neither of them left the room while I undressed in front of the desk where both were sitting at, placing my clothes on a chair.

A nurse usually tells me to undress. Occasionally a Doctor has asked me to undress if whatever it is needs a ‘look see’ before an answer is given. So, when the dr has been in the room he/she has always been busy. Thank goodness because I would get nervous if my doctor that I have now watched. He is extremely good looking. It’s just a guess but I think he would probably handle such a situation very well. 😉

I prefer being nude when I'm in for an exam. I don't want her to miss anything so the better view she has of my body for as long as possible the better I feel about it. When I'm in her office my body belongs to her.

My one piece bathing suit would be a nose clip.

Most of my exam is done without a shirt because the nurse has done an EKG. However, when the genital exam time comes, I simply remove my pants and shorts and hang them on the door hook in clear view of my wife and the male doctor. At this point I walk to the sitting doctor completely naked (except for socks) and stand in front of him for the penis exam then I move to the table and bend over for the rectal. Once that is completed, I clean up and get dressed while talking to the doctor and my wife.

The only time the doctor has been in the room while I undressed was the pediatrician and one as an adult, probably 35 years ago. I don't know if they watched.

I have never had a doctor or nurse in the room when I undressed or got dressed after the exam. I know that the doctor's going to be seeing various parts of my body anyway, but I guess, especially as a female, we're so ingrained to always have privacy during the undressing/dressing part that it would feel a little weird if the doctor was in the room during that part.

Or maybe it wouldn't be weird. I've never had it happen so I just don't know.

For all of my regular exams I always had to drop pants and underwear with doc and mom in the room, not really sure if they watched.

When I went to ER thinking I had kidney stones and doc examined me for torsion, I undressed from waist down with doc in room and was examined standing and laying down that way, no gown or coverage

Growing up at my pediatrician the nurse usually told me to undress to my boxers as she left and the doctor would come in...one time I had a pediatrician who slowly had me undress during my physical...first take my t-shirt off and sit on the table...then had me lie back and undid my belt and opened up my cargo shorts...and then pulled them off so I was in my boxers and finally pulled those down for the genital exam. I had a recent physical with a more adult doctor where it was the first time he asked me to undress in front of a doctor. I was in the exam room fully clothed and after he came in and asked me some questions said okay lets see you take everything off but can leave your boxers on and we can begin the exam

I’ve never had a doctor watch me undress. Whenever nudity or near-nudity is required a nurse escorts me to an examining room, hands me a gown and leaves the room. For urology or dermatology exams I am usually clothed and only expose my “privates” as they are actually being examined. Getting dressed after the exam is another story. There have been a few occasions where nurses stayed behind to clean up and prepare the room for the next patient. Getting dressed in front of them was a little awkward even though they had just watched me being examined.

One final thought: at my last urology appointment there were very prominent caveats or warnings that I was entitled to a chaperone for the duration of my appointment. But that would spoil all the fun.

It demands what one means by the term "undress." If you mean fully undress, no. The nurse/doctor will give me a gown, and then leave the room as I disrobe entirely and put on the gown. However, on the occasions in which I've been given a quick rectal exam, the nurse/doctor has generally just told me to lower my trousers and briefs/boxers to my knees--right in front of them--and either bend over the examining table or lie on my left side.

I’ve experienced a whole spectrum of different ways of being asked to undress or being undressed for a genital examination.

The most common for me as a kid was being asked by the nurse to undress all the way to my underwear before the doctor came in. Sometimes a gown was provided. Other times, I was just in my briefs. When it came time to do the genital exam, mostly closer to the end of the encounter, I would be lying down and the doctor would lower my briefs down to his/her liking after telling me that it was time to “take a look at [my] privates.”

One time, I actually had my pants on for the exam. When it came time for the genital exam, the doctor, without alerting me, started to unbuckle my belt and pulled down my zipper. She then pulled down my pants and also the briefs underneath to examine me. I was just surprised by the whole thing.

During another exam, I was in just my briefs since the start of the exam. When it came time, I was asked to stand up and “drop ‘em.” During that exam, I was also asked to bend over and spread my own cheeks for a visual exam of my anus.

I have also experienced exams where the exam room is joint with the doctor’s desk space. I was asked to undress behind the curtain and get on top of the exam table and cover my genitals with a sheet. When in that position, I would call over and let her know I was ready. That sheet did more harm than good as it just kept sliding across my penis and stimulating it. I definitely had an erection for that exam.

I had a few health concerns during my childhood and adolescence so I suspect the doctor was present during my disrobing out of a sense of efficiency, getting the Q and A done as I undressed so she could spend her time conducting the exam and not waiting around. Initially it was a tough pill to swallow but I got used to it.

I haven’t had a doctor watch me get undressed, but my doctor (PCP) has watched me get dressed after my exam. I had gone for an annual physical and after the nurse finished taking my vitals, she pulled out a gown and put it on the table and said “you can get undressed” and quickly left the room. As I began to disrobe, I wasn’t sure if when the nurse said “get undressed” if she meant to leave my underwear on, or to take them off. I concluded that “undressed” meant no clothing at all, so I took off my underwear and put on the exam gown. It was a typical annual physical with my female doctor, but because I’m over 60 she doesn’t do a testicular or penis examination. The last portion of her examining me is always me bending over the table for a DRE. After my doctor finished giving me a rectal and prostate exam, she got off of the stool and said “we’re done” as she walked to the computer. I straightened up from being bent over the exam table and was standing facing her in the exam gown. She began talking to me about getting a COVID booster, flu, and a Shingles shot, and possible preventative tests. As she began to tell me about the preventative tests I should have, I was thinking to myself if I should wait for her to leave the room to get dressed or if I should get dressed as we talked. I didn’t want to offend her, but I figured that she see’s patients personal privates (male and female) all the time. So, I untied the upper part of my exam gown and just took it off while she explained some preventative tests. As she asked me a question, I was standing in front of her talking to her with my penis and ball sack in her full view. I stood naked in front of her for about a minute or so and then I went over to the chair where my clothes were, and she watched me putting my underwear on as I proceeded to get dressed while finishing discussing these tests. She didn’t at all seem troubled by me being fully naked in front of her, and I wasn’t at all bothered by her seeing me nude especially considering she had just had her finger up my ass giving me a rectal exam.

As a child at the doctor's, the doctor would say to my mother could she strip me down to my underwear when I was younger, or to myself when I was older. I would strip off to my briefs or boxers while everyone - my mother, brother and the doctor - stayed in the room, taking off my jacket, shoes, shirt, and jeans or shorts. Depending on what they asked, sometimes I would leave my socks on until later in the exam, sometimes they asked for me to take them off straightaway. They would then start by getting me to hop into the scales to weigh me and stand against the wall for my height, before I sat on the bed for them to carry on.

As an adult, it's similar, they'll ask me "could you undress to your underwear for me please?" and I'll undress to my boxers while the doctor is typing away still in the room. Again, when I'm ready they'll start by doing physical measurements with my height and weight taken, sometimes even doing waist and height measurements and skinfold fat measurements.

At my examination for insurance, I was escorted by the nurse to the examination room. Here was a small changing room, she led me in and told me of to undress completely and wait until I was called back. She left the room, a moment later I heard the door open and a woman called my name. So I emerged completely naked and stood before the female doctor who examined me thoroughly from head to toe. During the examination the nurse also came in and brought files.

I’ve never been watched, no. I’ve always done the speed undress because I don’t wanna be flopping around when he walks in on me.

I have frequent check ups at hospital for a condition and the nurse will bring a gown to me and leave the room while i undress and put it on - the doctor will then come in and get me to take it off while he examines me - how mad is that?!!! xxx

Speaking from France...

Not much experience with hospital (lucky me). The one time I had to undress to put a gown for an exam, I did it privately in a small box closed by curtains.

But in private practices, in France you're not told to put on a gown, you just undress, most of the time to your underwear, in the room with the doctor being there. (S)he would not look at you directly, typing on the computer, reading some paper on your medical history or something. And then when you say "and now ?" or when you don't move anymore, (s)he would look at you and the exam would start.

Maybe some would stare obviously, but it's not that common. From my own experience of course.

I've experienced both. Some doctors ask you to strip down to your underwear and leave the exam room in the meantime. Others sit down for the time at their desk and work on something. I have never received a gown.

and I was never given a gown at a doctor's private office, and generally like it is said, the doctor did not watch at me undressing in briefs but it was depending on doctors, it could happen that a doctor was asking questions while you were undressing, so he or she was watching at you.

Nevertheless, I do not understand why it would be more embarrassing to have a doctor watching at you while you undressed than if the doctor does not look and is reading a paper ?

an other solution would be to be instructed to undress in a small cabin before entering in the exam room which was common at job exams for instance or at a medical center where a secretary told tou to go to a cabin, to undress and to wait that the doctor came to open the door opposite to the hall.

It was practical when there was several doctors and you could often decide how much you undressed if nothing was mentioned or instructed by the secretary, I remember of some medical center where it was mentioned by a paper on the wall of the cabin that you might undress completely including underwears. When there is nothing mentioned, I undress normally in briefs.

Except one time at a dermatologist center where I followed a mention in the cabin which required us to undress completely,so I stood naked when the woman doctor opened the door, she seemed surprised to see me naked, and told me while smiling that I could have kept my underwear, and that we were not at a draft examination where complete nudity was required like her husbands had related her, I replied that I had followed the mention on the wall, she said that she did not know that this mention which was put many years ago was still fixed on the wall, but when I took my brief to put it back , she said that now that I was naked, the best was to stay naked, it would be easier for her exam if I was naked since anyway she needed to inspect all my body.

When I went to the dermatologist last year for a problem in my genital area, there was a male doctor and a female nurse in the room. The nurse was recording on the computer at the table. The doctor took me to the section separated by a curtain and there, right next to the doctor, I undressed and left my lower body completely naked.

This didn't bother me too much. When I lay on the examination table and lifted my feet up, I saw that the curtain was half covered. If the nurse just turned her head a little and looked, it would be enough for her to see me.

I wonder if she was looking, I'll never know. I just think that the doctor could close that curtain completely if he wanted, but for some reason he left it half open.
