Does the doctor watch you undress?

Recently, my doctor wanted to do a breast exam and told me to take off my shirt and bra and and handed me a gown. She turned away while I did that and told me to tell her when I’m ready. She then had me lie down and pulled down my gown so she can feel my breasts for lumps with her fingertips.

@Papaya Seems a little counterproductive to have you change into a gown while she looks away, only to pull down the gown exposing your breasts to her.

In every exam (real rather than play exams) no one has ever been present in the exam room when I undress. However, I have had exams when the doctor is still in the room while I dress following the exam.

They sometimes think they should give you permission to get dressed ASAP, thinking to minimize the time you need to stay undressed. So they'll still be completing stuff on their PC and sending out the script or whatever. Exhibitionist me wants to remain unclothed as long as possible AND I want to be allotted time to take pics in the room in my undressed state to share. I can't be all dressed and ready to leave the room when the doc is.

Since I was little I haven't had to strip for the doctor as an adult. and if he ever asked me to do it now. he would have to be out of the room.

At the dermatologist yesterday for a Total Body Skin Exam the nurse told me to remove my T shirt and shoes. She was still in the room while I did that.

WHAT? You got undressed for your dermatologist? I've been twice now and this year I specifically asked for a TBSE thinking they didn't do that last year. Both times they saw as much of me as the waitress at the diner. I bet they charged Medicare more than she gets paid and I usually see her longer.

@Wanderer Just the normal exam. I guess I was taken aback by the request for stripping down. The doc was in his 70's then but, still in rather good form and mental faculties. He retired a couple of years later.

I did get hard during the exam which the Doc advised I need to see a urologist regarding the curvature of the penis.

@JTMac I remember standing there naked, after the exam, while the doctor talked to me. Then, without warning, she opened the door to exit the exam room. Everyone could see me standing there naked. I raced to pull up my underwear. The door never closed quickly enough.

I think i've posted this in other threads, but for me it depends on the situation.

- most physical exams have been a "strip as you go", so doctor asks for something to be taken off, so is in room when that happens. at the end, either with underwear pulled down or not, getting dressed with the doctor still there talking through things and finished up, so dressed when doc leaves. Occasionally asked to leave shirt off if something else is going to happen, like a shot or an EKG.

- dermatologist exam have been "change into the gown" and no one is in the room for either disrobing or getting dressed.

- medical procedure (e.g., colonoscopy) was getting undressed in private behind the curtain, donning the gown, and telling the nurse on the other side that I was ready.

- urgent care/ER, i have had both take something off while doc/nurse is present, but also the figure out how to take off snowpants and thermal underwear and put on exam shorts over boxes in private (and ironically could have used the help in that case...)

No I have never been watched, but the nurse stays in the room and I go behind the drapes to change at my annual physical. I am gowned before she runs any test after the initial questions.

In real exams usually no one is in the room. I’ve had some surprise moments when the real doc said to take off shirt or lower pants and underwear, but those have been rare. In play exams, as a patient, I’ve had docs “strip as needed” and leave the room for me to strip to underwear. As a play doc I usually ask the patient what they are comfortable with and go with whatever that is. Repeat patients seem to prefer just to strip completely at the beginning since they are not showing me anything new.

At my regular GP, who just retired I would be in a gown with nothing underneath, changing before and after was with no one in the room.

At my new GP I started fully clothed then shirt off, chest bare, for EKG; pants never came off unfortunately.

But at my dermatologist, as I've shared several visit descriptions here, I end up completely naked and the last few times the assistant stayed in the room after the doctor left and I stood up completely naked, awkwardly getting dressed, either with her in the room or as she's leaving the room described in the visit linked below.

While it's fresh in my mind, I just saw my dermatologist for our annual checkup. Anthony is pretty anal about spots and such on our skin so we go in every year to get checked out, and the doctor will remove any unwanted spots. I also had a skin irritation of sorts right around my perineum area, on the right side.

At the beginning of the exam, the doctor's assistant asked what specifically we wanted the doc to check. I told her about the above, so she said it was time for me to strip.... then she added that I could just pull down my shorts and panties to at least past my thighs and I could keep my shoes and socks on. Well, we told her [Anthony went in with me] we didn't mind me stripping so as soon as I hopped on the bed, I removed my shorts and panties, and shoes. She stayed in the room and continued inputting the information on her tablet while I undressed. She laid a drape over my lap. After that, the doctor came in, and after the initial greetings, he had me lay back and I spread my legs so he could examine that area. All went well, and he gave me a cream to use for 30 days but said it most likely just skin irritation. He mentioned that I could go without panties, in the nude, if that was more comfortable. The main thing is to minimize anything that would cause friction in that area. Forgot to add, he had me lay back a second time and palpated that area, with my legs spread but flat on the table. That was pretty exciting. His assistant had her hands on my left leg, and after he was palpating, he had his hand on my right leg while he continued talking to me. He's very touchy but it's nothing weird it's just part of his personality. He's very hands on and thorough.

He also checked my abdominal area as I had a few spots he removed there. I remember he lowered the drape to reveal below my navel, as hubby pointed out another little tag, on the left side below my navel.

After that, I hopped off the table, removed the drape. I went to the chair where my shorts and panties and shoes were and dressed, all while he was still in the room. Then it was Anthony's turn. 😃

Shygirl17, hot story. You are your partner do the full body skin exam together? Could be fun, I've only done mine alone, and had it run the gamut from mostly dressed to draped. The first time I was draped I left my socks on (didn't know they looked at feet), and the attractive derm had me remove them, after commenting she used the same type of running socks. Fun

I was always already undressed when my pediatrician walked in. The nurse would tell me to undress down to my underwear and then leave the room. I think that's one of the thing I like about play exams is being told to undress and forced to talk to them wearing nothing but my underwear.

The only other time I got "undressed" in front of the doctor was my school exams. But the only things that came off was my shirt, shoes, and socks. Sooo not much stripping really.

Can you tell us about Anthony's experience or what you witnessed?

I don't remember a single exam where the doctor leaves the office and lets me undress alone. I usually have to undress in front of a doctor. Of course, they're watching. My family doctor openly stares at me when I take my clothes off. He also discusses everything from politics to the weather with me.

No; patients would either already be changed and waiting or have a privacy area to change in screened off from viewing.

I usually have male doctors, and I am kind of a sports guy. So I choose doctors familiar with sports, and we usually chat about teams while I undress. It doesn't always happen - but about half the time as it is not really that different from undressing in a lockerroom.

Only once when I saw a neurosurgeon about stabilizing my cervical spine after a C6-C7 fusion. We talked in his exam room then he asked me to undress. While I was doing that he stepped over to a desk apparently looking away. I was down to my boxers and started to take them off but he stopped me and said, “That’s far enough.” He watched me walk and did a few neurological tests. Then he had me dress and step out into a hallway where I again was asked to walk.

This was some time back in 2003-2005. The fusion was destabilizing the level above and below the fusion. At that time I was still in ‘do as you are told’ mode. Today I would have asked him why that was necessary. He was obviously watching me from behind and to my left as he told me when to stop.

Part 2, Anthony's turn.

We have been out of town all week, and I did not see the message asking for my perspective of Anthony's turn. The doctors assistant asked him what specifically he wanted the doctor to check. It was really an overall checkup but he had a spot on his temples on both sides. He also had those red spots some people like us get that are fairly common, but he wanted those removed. Mainly on his back and then, I believe, some on his arms.

The doctor was already in there, along with his assistant. Anthony removed his shirt since that was the main area of concern. He sat on the table , and the doctor went through checking all over his upper body. He zapped all those spots, including inserting the little anesthesia to those localized areas, though Anthony has a high pain tolerance so he didn't really need it. It was kind of fascinating watching as I don't particularly like needles and usually hold my breath and look away when it happens to me. The doctor wanted me to watch so I could see how easy and pain free it could be.

After that, Anthony hopped and then we remembered he had this lump on his right groin area so he pulled down his shorts and boxers, and the doctor felt that area. He had Anthony cough a few times to make sure it wasn't a hernia. It wasn't, it was lipoma. He had also palpated the area. Then, Anthony put back on his clothes and the exam was done.

If I am undressing completely, the doctor puts a gown on the exam table and steps out of the room.

Most doctors I've seen in the past 15 years show you behind a curtain or leave the room. Not so longer ago. It's that time thing again.

Personally, I wish they wouldn't. For me, chatting while I get undressed makes it a business-like, necessary but friendly process. I prefer that. Stripping on your own makes the thing very formal for me.

But I get lots of Zity patients prefer 'formal'. And if my doctor is female or young, I think getting undressed in front of them will embarrass them so I don't ask to or I don't say it's okay if they stay.

Has anyone had play exams where this has happened ? Or what about doctor helping you undress ?

Normally, I'm allowed to undress and put the gown on in private. With my first exam, I was told to strip down to my underwear while waiting for the doctor to come in. He did the medical history and then had me hop on the table for the basic stuff like heart check, liver, and basic palpations. For the hernia and rectal exam I had to stand and remove my underwear. It didn't seem strange to be nude except for the rectal exam where I was on the table on my back with my knees drawn to my chest. I felt totally exposed and a little violated in that position. The doctor had been recommend by a gay information center, so the doctor was probably gay and may have been checking me out. From that experience, I developed a medical fetish with physical exams.

The only time when the doctor watched us undress was when I was 15 and my brother was 7. We originally had a female doctor but my brother found it was too embarrassing to have her examine him, so we got a male doctor instead. At first we got our height, weight, BP and vision tested in the hallway fully clothed. The nurse then escorted us to the exam room and said the doctor would be in soon. Once the nurse left my mom looked at us and said 'alright guys start taking off your clothes and get ready to become underwear models' I said that I was waiting for the doctor or nurse to tell us to disrobe before I removed a stitch of clothing. Just then the doctor came in and after a bit of small talk he asked us to both 'strip to the skin' and watched us as my brother and I undressed and suddenly all our clothes were on the chair. My brother tried to cover himself and his genitals but the doctor said 'no need for that we all know what boys look like down there'. We had our exams and after the doctor was done with the both of us did he leave with my mother who said 'help your brother dress'.

Do you suppose he says the same thing to girls? At that age they look more alike than boys, just a slit.

Never had to undress for a Doctor but I did get completely undressed for a surgical procedure with a nurse watching me.
