I got my first bottle of glycerin at a local CVS pharmacy. It was a 4 ounce brown bottle, and for some reason they kept it behind the counter, and it had to be asked for.
Went back to get another after some time and they were out of stock. Needed to go to Walmart for some other things, decided to check them out. Couldn't find it, so I had asked someone.
They lead me to it sitting right on the shelf, but it wasn't that little brown bottle I had seen before, (and was looking for). I do believe it was a 6 ounce bottle, but a clear bottle with lots of writing on the label. Where that little brown bottle didn't have much on it at all.
Had to read the label... Talked a lot about comestic uses, so wasn't sure if it was the same stuff, so passed on it, and ordered it from CVS.
After doing some Internet browsing just a few days ago, I found that glycerin is used for cosmetic purposes, so 'maybe' it was the same stuff, just in different packaging?
I looked on the Internet as I wanted to find out if glycerin was just a slippery type substance, like say a mineral oil that would allow things to flow more freely, or if it actually had something in it that would assist in expulsion.
What I did find out, was that with the chemicals in it, it did provide for some intestinal irritation that would assist in expulsion.
When I was lead to it, it was in the pharmacy section, if I remember near skin care products. But again, don't know if its the same exact stuff I had purchased before.
Maybe someone else can give some input to this?
