What method is usually used for your genital exams?

I'm laying on my back on the table. Right after my doctor palpates my abdomen, he has me slip my boxers down and he examines my testicles and checks for hernias. Then he has me turn to my left side for the prostate exam. I do wish that he would have me standing as well as I feel that I would have a more comprehensive exam.

My typical genital examination at the pediatrician was with me completely naked on the examination table. He always started with testicles, inserting a finger in the inguinal canal, palpating spermatic cords and pulling each testicle. This was quite uncomfortable due to cremasteric reflex elicited by the manipulation. He also slightly squeezed each testicle to assess size and consistency. This is done with spread legs and knees slightly bent, the position unavoidably expose also the anal sphyncter and it was very embarrassing. Then he palpated the penis shaft, reachef the prepuce and pulled forward it a little assessing elasticity and redundance. Then rapidly retracted it uncovering the glans and keeping it completely retracted making the frenulum pulling and the tip bending while examining the inner mucosa, the glans and the meatus spreading it a little. I was dreaded of that part because in my early examinations he did a few forced dilatations. He seems to be definitely focused on the penis expecially the prepuce.

I was totally naked and lying she palpating the testes, the shaft and glans. Then my foreskin was moved with erect and soft Penis.

I get genital exams at both the Urologist and Endocrinologist appointments every time. The Urologist appointments are every 6 months and the Endocrinologist are every two weeks.

For the Urologist being urinary incontinent, from the waist down clothing is removed and gowned. Next diaper is removed or pull up is lowered. Doctor uses gloved fingers moving and examining genitals and checking shin health in frog leg position.

For the Endocrinologist, totally nude exspect diaper or pull up with gown, full genital exam with multiple measurements and photos for HRT injection testing and study purposes.

As a child I would be laying on my back on the exam table in just my underpants. The doctor would lower my underpants to my knees, feel the shaft of my penis(which was usually erect) and spread the tip to examine the opening, then squeeze each testicle and ask me to turn my head and cough as he dug his fingers in on each side to do the hernia check. Next he would raise my legs and spread my buttocks to look at my anus.

Normally, in elementary school and Jr. High I was always standing with my feet spread apart over the exam table step. Only once, when I went to a different Doc due to my normal Doc was on vacation, he had me lie on the exam table and he lowered my underwear.

HS was back to the same, feet spread on either side of the step.
