Don’t give up your stuff…..

OK, this one may seem odd but it really happened today: I’ve lately given thought to giving up the enema thing. I’m getting older and it doesn’t get me as excited as it used to and it certainly used to. This morning I woke up with “a stuck one”. You know what I’m talking about. Too much bread and pasta perhaps? I’ve had these before but never like this one. I was in real pain. The body trying to reject the feces and the sphincter saying no, it’s huge. Nothing was happening except pain. I tried a few things. I’ll spare you the gory details. Finally, I put about a quart of hot water in my enema bag and put the tip of the nozzle in my butt. When I released the clamp I realized I was dripping all over. The water was going nowhere except the floor. I had to clean out the nozzle tip several times but after refilling the bag and manipulating the nozzle tip past the blockage, I finally felt the hot water getting around and behind it. The enema bag emptied and I laid there sweating. After maybe 5 minutes there was cramping and I decided to sit on the toilet and try to expel this thing. Suddenly, the enema solution began to spray into the toilet and suddenly the behemoth began to make its way out. I was now sweating profusely and shaking. I‘m pretty sure this is what childbirth feels like. It finally left me but it hurt like hell. My ass still hurts tonight.

I’ve learned two things: Eat more fruits and vegetables and don’t get rid of your enema stuff. I shudder to think of what would have happened today if I had already tossed it.

That’s happened to me several times! Thank god I have lots of enema gear! One of my acquaintances had to go to the ER to get cleaned out.

For what it's worth, it's not the bread and pasta that causes that type of trouble for me. It's way too many red meat meals. The only time I've had the sort of issue to which you're referring, I was eating out a lot with my Mom and her boyfriend and indulging in really good thick burgers, steak for dinner, next night prime rib, another burger at our favorite place where I normally eat a lot of chicken and fish and salads. It was an issue every time. It's also why I started eating salads BEFORE my burgers when I visited and we were hitting my favorite restaurant near them, Hamburger Hamlet. What made HH burgers so different was they had ½ burgers that were thick and they'd cook them medium-rare. Add old-fashioned thick steak fries and it would slow everything down.

Adding a salad (I'm not much into dressing) before all meals and the problem disappeared even when I ate a lot of red meat. Here's to you not tossing your equipment and not having any more issues.
