Volume and holding

Me for one started with your basic 2 qts. Through the years (many enemas later) I've enjoyed increasing my volume to a comfortable level. I've taken up to one gallon but I like 3-3/12 qts. Now for retention time, I've had lots of practice holding for up to an hour plus with various styles of nozzles and plugs. I wish I could find the classic latex DBL nozzle but I own a number of SN of at least 2" up to 3" plug style for extended pleasure sessions. It takes practice and lots of lube but it's worth it in the end. (Bad pun)

I take either 2 qts or 3 for 90% of enemas. The rest are mostly Fleets

I retain every enema as long as physically possible, up to a goal of 15 minutes. After 15 minutes it's done what it's gonna do, and I can release it
