I've gone through different stages in my life thus far, with different points of view about my pubic hair. I vaguely remember my aunt being the first to tell me, when I first started menstruating, that I would grow hair down there, and she went on to explain what she did in regards to 'maintenance', if you will. For her, she'd shave the sides of her vagina so she could wear her bikini, without the pubes falling out of it; I'm paraphrasing, of course, but she was the one who kind of led the way in what I should do as far as my pubic hair, and I would go on to follow in her footsteps, as such.
Later on, I'd shave my entire vagina, for years, thinking that is what guys liked (never really bothering with what I, myself, liked!).
I would say that now, I care less about being completely shaven, mainly because it's a pain to always have to shave, and also, I've grown to despise that prickly feeling, as the hair grows back. I now just like to trim the mons pubis area with my trimmer; however, I do still shave the sides of my lips and also, my clitoral area. I do like looking in the mirror, from time to time, at the direction and growth of my hair; I find it very sexy and feminine, but I also don't like my hair to be unruly or too bushy, just enough to show the direction and flow my natural pubic growth, if that makes sense.
