I have read all these posts and my conclusion is that the term punishment enemas is misleading. For most it isn’t punishment. It usually ends in an intense orgasm. It produces sensations that are not appealing to all but what many need. A lot of us need the struggle, to fight the urge, perhaps a feeling of doing penance, perhaps punishing us for our shame. Whatever it is it satisfies a need and the scenes are very arousing to many. I dont think most who enjoy enema discipline are masochists or those that give sadists. I wouldn't state that categorically. A punishment is meant to be unpleasant at the very least and often enough painful. What is the sense of otherwise giving spankings/whippings? Not because they feel good, but because they physically hurt and are moreover embarrassing and humiliating.
