Help ID an old thermometer from description!

I though you all would be the most knowledgeable people to ask about this. My family had an old digital thermometer from before I was born, I think it was from the 80s. Can anyone ID it based on this description?

-White digital thermometer with blue accents. The thermometer itself was on a medium length cord that wrapped around a device that you held in your hand. It was maybe half the size of a phone.

-The hand-held part had a big blue button that I enjoyed pressing.

-It was stored in a flat plastic container that was white and snapped closed.

-It could be used orally or rectally. It was only used rectally once on me that I remember. It was the first time I can remembering something going into my bottom! I remember feeling weird about it, but not disliking it.

Sounds kind of familiar. I remember buying one like that probably early 1990s. It was probably the size of a deck of cards and the cord wrapped around a base that slid up to cover it. I think it had a place to store probe covers on the back.

I don’t remember the brand or it having a big button.

I used it orally though while in college. Rectal was always with a glass thermometer since it feels better than digital and requires longer to register. The shorter time of a digital is obviously expedient in a clinical setting or if the patient is less cooperative about having a thermometer up the butt.

Radio Shack produced digital thermometers before they were commonly seen on store shelves. This would have been around the early 90's. I bought one, but lost it over the years. They actually worked well, and they had a long cord, so that you could see the display as the temperature was registering. Still, not nearly as exciting as a vintage glass model from the 50's or 60's. I can just see them coming up with an ad for it: " Ahead of its time, to work in your behind."
