@LordJim2 Isn't there a greater risk of a candy thermometer breaking? My recollection is that they have a thin glass outer shell…..

This is exactly what I use on my patients ..much thicker than the standard.

Indeed, a previous friend used it when I look at this pic … I did not know, it is a Veterinary one … ooops … do not want to imagine, in which holes it has been before, but my cheeks were the sexiest, I believe… smile

There are larger “custom” thermometers of approx 12 inches long X 1 inch diameter as used by zoological vets for large animals

A play doc used a veterinary rectal thermometer in me. Slowly it was shoved up me. It felt wonderful. Wish I had met a vet to take me under his/her wing for regular temps. back when I was in college.

I've never tried one but I remember a cute picture of a veterinary nurse holding a lubed thermometer with a caption that implied she was going to take the photographer's temperature. I wish I could find the pic.

Veterinary thermometers are 5 inches long with a ring top for a string and tail clip. A bit heavier glass than a normal human rectal model, also just a small amount larger in cross section. We had a number of them on the ranch, where I lived as a kid. I took a male friend's RT using one in our hayloft, where no one would see us, he actually looked kind of cute with the string and tail clip hanging off to the side over his butt cheek. We were about 11 years old as I recall. He and I did thermometer play as kids when we could be alone, but usually, it was with one of our family's medical thermometers, not the veterinary ones.

I can't image the difference between a veterinary thermometer and a normal glass thermometer.

I purchased one at a local Tractor Supply Company store. It was in the equine and other large animal section of the store. It is a slightly longer thermometer, a more tapered shape at the bulb end, but similar diameter to the newer rectal thermometers for humans. It has a higher temperature scale on it than thermometers meant for humans since most animal rectal temperatures are 2-3°F warmer than humans (has a set of “normal” temperatures for various animals on the back).

The biggest difference besides those described above are the connector at the top of the thermometer for the waxed string to be tied off and the alligator clip (tail clip?) at the other end. I will post some pictures in my gallery.

Yes of course, I use veterinary glass thermometers to play. I own two vintage veterinary rectal thermometers. I really enjoy taking my rectal temperature with them. As you may know they are larger and thicker than clinical rectal thermometers, for improved arousal.

I used it on my patient a couple of times. Nice experience, but I do prefer the standard glass one, more realistic.

I have one I purchased maybe 30 years ago that I still use occasionally. The larger diameter and greater length are both pluse.

Way back aways, when I first started living with my now wife, She out did every other woman I had ever been with, even though I had (so I thought) some really crazy and erotic partners, she really topped them all. Enema Runner is correct, go to tractor supply and buy one, they are big and heavy compared to the people ones.

Yes and they are strong and have a glass loop at the end so you can thread a small cloth tape threw and tie off .With that you can insert the hole thremomater in leaving a little bit out . Vet thermomomaters are the boss i have only taken over 1000 hd of cattles temp with them over 35 yrs .I also have a couple at my house for my own personal use .

Once you've started to seriously collect thermometers, you tend to become somewhat extreme in a way. After my boyfriend and I felt like we had every available model for humans in our country, we started to explore what else was out there. We've been using horse thermometers for decades now. They are thicker, longer, stronger, and still look the part. Big fan of the vet thermometers. Highly suggest those over the candy thermometers I see in medfet pics. The vet ones feel great, and are much safer than putting a candy thermometer in your bumhole.
