There are several brands of bedside commodes for sale, both new and used. Some fold up so can be put away, under the bed for example.
The inexpensive ones are pretty uncomfortable to sit on and have plain, round seats.
My preference is for this unit

It is a well made and sturdy unit, although it is thicker when folded up than some. In use it feels solid and is quite comfortable even if one sits on it for extended times.
Also, the pail can be slid in or out from the front, even when someone is sitting the commode. When the pail is removed, there is good access to the sitter's anal and pubic areas. Without the pail, it can be used in a shower. Also, the arm rests swing down, ,making transfer from a bed easy.
