Surprise! You're pregnant! And in labor!

I have no idea why but I was stumbling through Quora. There's some seriously wacky stuff in there, it's hard to stop! Anyway, I came across this one story about a women who went to the hospital for Appendicitis and left as a mom. Crazy story, but appears to be entirely true, along with a medical explanation for why she didn't realize and a form from the hospital verifying it. It's actually a pretty sweet story, too -- you'll see!

This must be a 1-in-a-million occurrence, but with 6 billion people in the world, that's still a lot -- sometimes the human body just amazes me.

About 3 years ago in our county fat woman presented to ER with abdominal pain, not realizing it was labor or she was due. I asked my OB GYN friend (I'm a guy--he's NOT my doctor) who told me every OB doc gets 1-2 in a career; he'd had one. Funny thing was this was not the fat lady's first baby. I'd have thought the pain pattern would be obvious.
