I'm now gathering my posts on this topic in this single location...
REVIEW 1. I abandoned the Cleanstream inflatable which I had after I found that multiple enemas with it irritated me, because of the ridges that scrape the anus on insertion. I think I'm going to have to return to that, because with that one I was able to do a coffee enema, leave the nozzle in place, wait the requisite 15 minutes or so, and not leak. I was also able to get an excellent fill. Whatever else was wrong with it, rhe Cleanstream provided a good seal at about 7 pumps of both the inside and outside balloons. So there you have it. I will continue to use the SN inflatable from time to time. My whole issue may be "just me," and all of you who read this need to know that. The SN nozzle inserts to nearly 9," but when I pump it up, as I mentioned before, it puts pressure on my anus, even fully inserted, and leaks. I will provide additional insight when I get it.
DocH3e. (The best kind of enema--filling to the fullest, and all the way inside. If your eyes are brown after your last enema, you're not doing it right. )
I received the nozzle yesterday afternoon, & used it this AM. I'm both pleased and disappointed, at the same time. Bob Knapp sent me a "test version" which is shorter (8.5" insertable), but much thicker (1.5" diameter before inflation).
So here's what I think.
I used it this am,
for 3 enemas.
2.5 qt soapsuds
1 qt plain water
3 qt. plain water.
First thoughts:
1. This thing is big. It's thick. 1.5" not inflated. The original was evidently 1" uninflated, if I understand his measurements right. The original was 12" long, 11.5" insertable. So it's quite different. I have to say, you've gotta use a lots of lube with this, otherwise it is hard to get in, even for me. A girl might not be able to do it, unless she's fairly experienced.
2. You must do an enema first, with a different nozzle. Reason? If your rectum is clogged and you use this, you won't get a good "seal." Even then, it's a bit disappointing. I still have a bit of leakage, inflated to "minor discomfort" levels.
3. Once you're used to the size, it feels really good inside, but when you inflate it enough to prevent losing it, it starts to hurt a bit. At 5 pumps, I can still pull it out. At 7, I might. Once you get to 10, it's not coming out.
4. Unlike the original, this nozzle inflates nearly along its length, which is probably why the seal is not that good. Since it's shorter, the insertion into the sigmoid doesn't happen. If you happen to like deep insertions (I DO), this is not going to do that. I know I could get the other one full length, because I insert the 12" SN "bat" nozzle that far. Feels weird, but good, and takes some "work" to get it all the way in.
I leaked a lot with the first enema, but that was because I didn't do a rectal cleansing first, and I had lots of fecal matter "in the way," so the seal just didn't work right.
5. If you plan on using this on a small person, or a girl, you may want to look elsewhere. If she takes a 1.5" diameter plug or dildo, this will probably work, but the inflation is likely to be uncomfortable.
6. The water or soapsuds definitely GOES IN. There's no restriction in flow inside the appliance, and it definitely has some flow power.
7. The fact that when inflated it may not be comfortable is something I can personally deal with. I've used the Cleanstream appliance in the past, and it feels a bit better once it's in, but this one is OK.
8. Anyway, Bob fulfilled his promise.
9. I suspect that the original nozzle could have been one of the casualties of their equipment failure, since it's now "temporarily unavailable."
10. "If you had to pick, from SN's offerings, which one would it be?" Without trying them both, I think the other one. However, this is still good, and I will keep it and possibly buy the other when it comes back into production.
11. Would I buy it again? Possibly. I don't know until I try the other.
12. I don't care for the Cleanstream product (it's got really poor quality control), but I will very likely buy that one as well, to compare.
13. The leakage bothers me. I got this because I DO leak. I want a tight seal without using superglue...however, I was pretty full, and this nozzle is well made. I hope I can start doing coffee enemas again (leaking coffee STAINS), but we shall see. Another enema series when I have the chance, and perhaps this one will reveal something I am doing wrong.
Thanks for reading!!
REVIEW 2.
is a second day review of the "Shorter" inflatable which I got from SN. Remember, this is NOT the one pictured on the site. This is one Bob recommended to me.
1. It is sturdy, no question.
2. It is BIG. When I say "big," everyone must remember that all this is personal. It stretches me a bit too much when I insert it, and it's uncomfortable inflated. That's me. YMMV.
3. I can't seat it in my rectum so that I don't leak. That was the purpose of the purchase. I've had leakage problems for several years, and I have to be very careful with volumes, solutions that might stain, and so on. I didn't used to leak. everything was "tight." Apparently this is a function of age, so oh well.
My original reason for the nozzle was to use it for coffee, soapsuds, etc., and to get a complete fill, "complete" being defined as a full colon, and all that will go in, with the bag or bucket at a reasonable height, for a 2nd or 3rd enema (as empty as I could get, to start). I used to find this pretty easy, and I know that I've taken enough water when it comes out with no solids, and fairly clear. I've been able to get this effect numerous times over the years, and it generally means that I have that great "empty feeling" for a couple of days, after which things start to build up. I'm sitting here with a somewhat sore bottom, because that nozzle is big. It goes in fine, but each time I insert it, I "stretch." I'm a bit concerned that over time I might "stretch" to the point of losing control, and that was sort of the opposite of what I intended. Of course, the other thing is that I could never use this on a girl (after appropriate cleaning and sterilization), even if she was an enthusiast (and experienced)--it's just too big for the normal female bottom. If I did manage to get it inside her, I couldn't pump it up because of its design. I've seen (and used) the Cleanstream appliance quite a bit, and on women. That works just fine, even if when I pump it up, her eyes get big... I abandoned the Cleanstream double inflatable after I found that multiple enemas with it irritated me, because of the ridges that scrape the anus on insertion. I think I'm going to have to return to that, because with that one I was able to do a coffee enema, leave the nozzle in place, wait the requisite 15 minutes or so, and not leak. I was also able to get an excellent fill. Whatever else was wrong with it, it provided a good seal at about 7 pumps of both the inside and outside balloons. So there you have it. I will continue to use the SN inflatable from time to time. My whole issue may be "just me," and all of you who read this need to know that.
