Rectal temperatures | Tops and color of the thermom…

Came across two of what I consider great images of the "barely teen/of age/18" theme girls having their rectal temperatures taken. One was Lacey Blue (18eighteen magazine) "The doctor took my temperature up my butt!" and "Shelly's sick room, Live Young Girls magazine. Both girls had glass mercury rectal thermometers with blue no-roll tops used and inserted (great close ups) as both girls were in a somewhat knee chest position and the camera in close on the inserted instruments in their respective shoots.

Some here might be familiar with these particular shoots that were done, one even being a video.

So, can you remember if the last time your rectal temperature was taken if the thermometer had a blue or red top or no color at all?

Clear glass with a blue triangular end. Over the years I managed to find one just like it, along with a clear one w/red triangle end, and yellow thermometers with blue and red ends too. I no longer have them all, which is a shame because they’re a lot harder to find now.

There is also some green ends someone told me they’re a veterinarian type.

While traditionally, red identifies a rectal thermometer , when I was growing up, we had a pair of BD rectal thermometers with blue triangle ends. They were clearly labeled RECTAL, and were in white plastic screw top cases.
