Thanks Doc got your kind reply.
I did go in for a follow up with my orthopedic surgeon. Surgery is on the table. I have, however, a lot of anxiety about it. He seem pretty aggressive, wanting to change / operate on a lot of things, but what I thought I would really need is only two: break up scar tissue, get rid of the anchor tip. If there found to be loose anchor or more tear I am up for repairing those. I want to restore anatomy that I was naturally born with.
The doctor however, wants to change things up. The consent he wanted me to sign include: manipulation under anesthesia; scar lysis; explorative arthroscopy; potential additional further acromial plasty ( I had it already last time six months ago); potential biceps tenodesis; potential capsular release. The potential ones were he suspect they may be performed but not know until he go in to check and make a decision in the spot.
I had expressed my desire for restoring natural anatomy and did not want the biceps tenodesis or capsular release. Doctor got upset, saying that I am the patient, but asking too much and too opinionated. I should just let him treat me. That he would not be my technician and I be the doctor. It will be either his way or no surgery from him.
Well, I did have a prior failed shoulder surgery to let me trust anyone easily. This doctor is not my previous operating doctor as I lost trust in him. I have recommendation from other patient and physical therapist to my current doctor described in this post. Surgery is next week unless I call it off .
