Note: this post was originally in a different section but I feel this was a more appropriate place for it.
I just wanted to post a tribute to my Pediatrician, Dr. C who is retiring. I hope you enjoy.
He was the most sweetest caring doctor I have ever known. I was lucky to find a guy like him. For the past 20 years he saw me through thick and thin, good times and bad times. He would nurse my fever when I was sick and make me laugh and feel comfortable through all of the examinations (even the hard ones). He would never hesitate to Spend as much time with me as needed, and he always explained things that he had to do before he did them. In a way, he somewhat reminded me of Mister Rogers. He was very kind and soft spoken. He would always explain what he was going to do before he did it. Dr. C made going to the doctor enjoyable not scary (except when there were shots involved of course!). He would always let me play with his stethoscope (my favorite part of the exam and instrument). And knew I flinched (in a good way but he didn’t know that) at the tingle of the otoscope in my ear. I will never forget being about 7 years old and hiding behind the exam table waiting for him to come in. That was always fun...the anticipation. I’m not sure when I started to find exams pleasureable, but I’m sure he had an influence on me.
I cannot imagine going to a better doctor and whomever I find to take over my care will have big shoes to fill.
Thank you, Dr. C see you around!
