Kinky emr

I like a lot of realism in my exams, I strive for accurate procedures and as realistic an environment I can produce without building a full-on exam room 😃

One of the things I've been thinking of is a kinky EMR system, designed to handle the things I want, and strip out the parts we don't need for roleplay, like billing. I'd like my EMR to track my patients and their histories, patient visits and what procedures are done, track the procedures that the clinic offers and the instruments and supplies needed for those procedures, etc.

I'm a half-decent web developer, and I was thinking of whipping something up for myself this year. Would anyone else use such a thing if it was available? For those who are tech savvy, it would be a PHP app, so it would run on a simple web server, but for those not as tech savvy, would anyone use this if it was offered as a free hosted web app? I figure at a minimum, I'd release it on GitHub as open-source so anyone could use it or contribute, but if there was enough interest, I would consider hosting a copy for Zity members.

I doubt that I would use it, but if you are the brains behind an open source project with your real name attached to it, it is a nice resume point.

Out of all the stuff that was on my resume that prospective employers could ask about, the fact that I am a state licensed pyrotechnician and my open source project generate the most questions.
