As a child I had quite many visits to the urologist due to undescendent testicles.
Today I found old records in my medical card of those visits and decided to use AI to read through doctors bad handwriting and share how this condition was treated ~20 years ago. I think it is quite interesting, word by word from a real andrologist:
March 12, 2004. Andrologist Consultation.
Birth via Cesarean section. Age: 8 years old. Since age 5—pathological weight gain. Both testicles are migrating. A course of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) was previously administered at age 5.5.
Physical Examination: Adipose tissue coverage is elevated. Fat distribution is of a feminine type. Lipomastia.
Genital Examination: The right testicle can be manually lowered into the scrotum during palpation. Testicular volume is between 7 and 9 milliliters. The left testicle could not be manually lowered into the scrotum. Penis length—4 centimeters. Foreskin is elongated.
Laboratory Results: Luteinizing Hormone - 0.1. Follicle-Stimulating Hormone - 0.1.
Diagnosis: Bilateral cryptorchidism, hypogonadotropic state.
Recommendations:
1. Two courses of Pregnyl 1000 units, intramuscularly, 2 times a week for a total of 9 injections—with a 2-month break between courses.
2. Diet, sports, high-protein cleansing days, breath-holding sessions.
March 18, 2004.
Progress: Penis length—4.8 centimeters. After 3 injections, the testicles have descended into the scrotum. Testicular volume is between 7 and 9 milliliters.
Recommendations:
1. Repeat the treatment course in 2 months.
2. Follow-up appointment in September–October 2004.
3. Blood tests for: Luteinizing Hormone, Follicle-Stimulating Hormone, Testosterone, and Estradiol.
October 1, 2005.
Status: Patient was seen and treated 3 months ago.
Examination: Testicular volume—between 7 and 9 milliliters. Penis dimensions—7 centimeters by 1.2 centimeters.
Observations: Hypernutrition. The scrotum is underdeveloped.
Lab Result: Luteinizing Hormone - 0.1 (decreased).
Recommendations:
Phase I:
1. Bio-Zinc 8 milligrams daily for 1 month.
2. Vitamin E 100 milligrams twice daily for 1 month.
3. Thiocetam 1 tablet daily.
4. Riboxin 200 milligrams 1 tablet daily.
Break for 1 month.
Phase II:
Repeat the same course for 1 month.
Break for 1 month.
Phase III:

October 25, 2005.
Status: No further treatment followed since the last visit.

Genital Measurements: Right testicular volume - 9 milliliters; Left testicular volume - greater than 7 milliliters. Penis dimensions—7.2 centimeters by 1.5 centimeters.
Diagnosis: Testicular hypoplasia. Hypothyroidism?
