At your last physical who told you to undress?

At my GPs office the nurse takes me to the room, but does not mention undressing. As the exam processes, I remove clothing as required. I usually remove my shirt towards the beginning or the exam. At the end, my doctor usually has me stand and drop my pants and underwear for a genital check. Afterwards, he has me redress as he remains in the room.

At my dermatologist, the nurse left a gown and told me to remove everything except underwear and put the gown on. As the exam started, the doctor pretty much pulled the gown down. Once she decided to do a general check, she had me remove the gown and underwear and stand nude for my check.

@Jimmybobo My GP (PCP) exam is fully clothed. The only time I removed my pants and underwear was for a hernia check that I requested. She confirmed I did have a small hernia and I should have it repaired only if it bothered me.

My dermatologist always examines me while I'm nude. We have been doing it this way ever since I told her I was a nudist.

My primary doctor was the one who told me to undress at my last physical. I mentioned to him that I was having rectal irritation, so he had me lay on my right side and to slide my shorts down. I just took my shorts and underwear completely off since it was easier, he then covered my bottom half with a paper sheet and then proceeded with the rectal. He felt on the outside first and then lubricated his finger and did a digital rectal. He was in there for a few minutes cause he had to feel everything inside. He said I had an anal fissure so thats what was causing the irritation. I go back in December so im expecting another rectal since im sure he'll probably recheck it

How far did you have to undress to?

I've only ever been told to undress by the nurse, always before the doctor came in, usually after she does my vital signs, then I sit and wait.

Nurse has been the only one to tell me to undress at all my exams. Then she leaves and comes back with the Dr.

Usually the nurse will give me the gown and then tell me to fully undress and put it on. She then leaves the room and after a few minutes the doctor comes in. I have had an exam where the doctor was the one to tell me to undress, however that is quite rare.

I have posted this in other threads but at the doctor, it is almost always disrobe as we go, versus getting undressed from the start. At my last physical, the MD lifted my shirt up to listen to my heart and lungs, then had me lie down on the table and palpate my abdomen. Did a brief neuro assessment, no rectal and I was done. Reviewed the blood work and that was it.

How far did you have to undress to?

I had to undress completely as always. My doctor is quite young but very old school, so since I was little he makes me undress completely

At my last (April) physical with a PA, who had spent 40 minutes assembling my history from the sources that I had provided, I didn't get undressed, and the clue, in plain sight, was the exam table in seating position with no white paper across it.

At the dermatologist (April) the assistant/scribe took me from the waiting room to the exam room. She went over the few questions, and gave me the option of everything off except underwear, or a gown. I opted for underwear, and met the male dermatologist in my briefs.

The pics from my album are from my family doctor in Maine. Each time, the same nurse would bring me from the waiting room to the exam room. She'd go over updates, check vital signs, pull out exam shorts (asked about if you scroll from the beginning of the thread), and leave. The first time, my doctor came in, went over my history, updates, then said that he would step out, pointing to the exam shorts. I've posted that they were XL, so I stripped to briefs. Each year after that, I would strip to underwear after the nurse had left. The doctor would do the exam first, then go over updates.

Do you remember if she specified that the gown would be without underwear, or did the gown option include underwear staying on?

@Wanderer I think that she asked if I wanted to get undressed to underwear or wanted a gown, or wanted a gown was okay in underwear. I'm guessing that a gown would have been over underwear especially the way the dermatologist was so careful, as she would have seen with each male patient, moving the briefs fabric to my penis on each side, not putting it down to look? My cock and testicles were always covered.

Follow up on my p'ost #220 2 yrs ago. In the meantime my older brother gets prostate cancer. I put this incident on my pre-visit questionaire for this year's annual visit. Doc questions me more about the cancer he has--treatment, level, etc--and whether I've had any problems. I have a small cyst on the back that's bothering me. She has me take off the shirt (it's a sebaceous cyst that she'll remove next week) Then she listens to my heart and lungs. In a surprise she says due to family history of prostate cancer she needs to do a rectal exam. She puts on gloves. "Drop your pants, stand on the shelf at the end of the table and bend over " I unzip, loosen belt and button, pants fall to the ankles (I don't wear underwear) She's done this to hundreds of guy, I'm sure, so ass in the air and balls hanging down doesn't do anything to or for her. However it's certainly was a different experience for me! The finger slid in. I didn't feel any discomfort as she felt around. Nothing but pressure as she felt around the prostate. After, she told me 'There's some Kleenex to clean yourself.' I stood up, naked from the ankles up. Doctor seems to ignore my nudity. She continues discussion of lab and follow up as I partially pull up the pants to step off the shelf, get the paper, half squat to wipe off, dump the tissues. and finally pull up my pants and get dressed.

The PSA test came back 0.8
