E stim trode placement safety

I am brand new to estim and wondering how safe an electrode on the hand and one on the taint is?

I had to look up 'taint' in the Urban Dictionary. To save anyone else the trouble it means the perineum.

To answer the question the hand and perineum are probably amongst the safest locations ever, to site the two electrodes.

However, because of the distance between the electrodes and therefore the mass of tissue it is unlikely that there will be any specific stimulation anywhere 'along the line', even with the power turned right up.

The most likely outcome is a severe but not dangerous jolt if a pad or connection comes adrift. There may also be some random and unpredictable muscle jumping.

If brosus is seeking erotic stimulation it is very unlikely to succeed with that set up.

E-stim should not be used where demand led medical devices (Pacemakers etc) are in the body, nor in the vicinity of metallic prostheses (hip joints etc) and never attached to metallic jewellery.

You are talking about putting one above your heart (hand) and the other below. I know very little about e stim, but have read that this arrangement can be dangerous. Keep your heart out of the flow path.

Even spinal cord stimulation is used in cases of chronic pain, and involves an implanted lead in the epidural space, terminating in an electrode as far up as vertebra C2, with the other electrode in the sacral region.

The danger is where stimulation is across the heart (typically breast to breast) where the heart muscles themselves are affected.

The advice about not using TENS or other E-stim devices above the waist is generalised advice to inexperienced users who may play dangerously. Most TENS devices, for instance, will include a 'map' of the human body clearly showing electrode attachment points in the neck, face, shoulders etc.

That being said, the generalised advice 'never above the waist' is good advice, as quincy says - however the attachment points that brosus specified do not 'cross' the heart, and although I said they are not likely to be erotically effective they are not dangerous either.

Depending on how good your heart is (and you probably don't know unless you have had a recent stress test), an electrode on the hand and one on the taint could stop your heart or put it into fibrillation.

Don't even try it. Ventricular fibrillation is a one way ticket out of here. I'm so adamant about this that I'll forgo all the wonderful puns I know about electricity.
