What are some good supplies for beginners ? And what speculums are good to start with ? Any exams/ procedures also that are good for beginners ?

The beauty of the Internet is that medical instruments are so easy to come by now. I use ebay and amazon. I do recommend buying high quality stuff. The difference between a cheapie and professional stethoscope is huge. A professional product has a completely different look, feel, and authenticity that is important to me and to my "patient".

Besides the obvious, a nice otoscope is a must. Peering into someones ears, nose, throat, and eyes is incredibly intimate. I do love surgical grade vaginal speculums and proctoscopes despite the need for sterilization. The weight and feel of surgical steel is marvelous.

EBay is a good source too!

It all really comes down to how much you wish to spend and how realistic you wish to make it.

A good beginners setup would be gloves, a patient gown, scrubs, lubricant, thermometer, stethoscope, and a speculum.

Gloves, scrubs, thermometer, and lubricant can all be purchased at Walmart, etc and all together will run you about 30 dollars. Patient gowns are found on Amazon/eBay for 10-15. A stethoscope on Amazon ranges anywhere from a cheap 20 dollar deal, to a 200 dollar Cardiologist setup. Finally, a 10 pack of plastic, disposable speculums are available on eBay/Amazon for a relatively low price.

All in all to get started, look to spend about 50 dollars and up for a bare bones setup.

As for exams and procedures, asking the patient to undress, performing a head-to-toe assessment with auscultation, breast exam, vaginal exam with the speculum, anal exam, and rectal temperature.

For me one of the esssentials is a wide assortment of gloves. Latex, nitrile, and vinyl. All in varying colors and lengths. Amazon is where I buy them all.

Def need stethoscope, bp cuff, otoscope, Tounge depressors, reflux hammer and thermometers if you want to be realistic

Just make a real appointment wit your DR and just shop around when your in the exam room depending on how many play patients you have. I am new as well I have but, one play patient because it's hard to find someone in New Mexico and only working as. GYNO All-In-All it's all up to you what type of play doc you're going to be.

So I started being patient but although I still enjoyed this role, I've also moved to playing the doctor as well. I have some basic supplies listed below if you want a go at playing doctor yourself!

Exam form - this helps you go through your list of examinations so you dont forget and you can use it to ask your patient particular questions

Good start, there. I'd love to add a tongue depressor, a speculum that can spread fairly wide, enema gear (even if note used, it gets one's attention), nipple suckers, perhaps a paddle for "Bend over, you need to respond to my directions more promptly."
