In fantasy rather than real life, of course...
I'm unexpectedly admitted to hospital from what I thought was a simple doctor's appointment. I didn't think there was anything really wrong with me, but I'm sitting where I've been told to, in a waiting room.
A nurse eventually calls me. Expressionless. She sits me down in a procedure room, puts an IV cannula into the back of my hand, doesn't answer any of my questions. She leaves me sitting there.
Another nurse eventually fetches me into another cool sterile room with an examination couch and not much else. Indicates that I should put on a hospital gown and the doctor will be with me soon. My doctor eventually comes back, explains that i need a minor procedure. While he is talking he takes my hand. I'm concentrating on what he is saying, so don't really pay attention to what he is doing - injecting something into the IV cannula.
Within a minute or so I'm feeling pretty woozy and sleepy. Without me noticing, another nurse has come into the room, and she eases me down onto the examination couch. wheeled into the next room where there is a much larger theatre, and transferred onto an operating table. I'm unable to resist as my legs are strapped into stirrups, my arms pulled away from my body and strapped down. ECG electrodes stuck to my chest. I'm unable to fight more drugs being given, and I'm paralysed. Intubated. Awake. I can feel everything that is done to me, A urinary catheter. Another IV cannula.
I'm completely helpless. And I have no idea why, or what is going to happen next...
