I was just wondering ...... How many of us have wives/hubbies or SO's that get involved with our love of diapers? I see posts of quite a few that have no tolerance whatsoever and that's really understandable. For me, mine has accepted it totally and has fulfilled all my kinky desires. Mine accepted it when I was dating her -- which is why I married that girl! That was back in the 1980s and we've definitely had some fun with it over the years. These days she's so accepting of it that she generally pays no attention to it anymore. My diapers are about like all my other clothes to her. And I guess that's good--though I'd like for her to humiliate me over wearing them a little bit now and then, and take more control of it all. She doesn't seem to understand that wearing my diapers is great, but her MAKING me wear my diapers is much much better. Oh well, I'm still luckier than most and I count my blessings.

I have found that person who has no problem with this as well. We met right here, as a matter of fact. She loves that I enjoy what I do, and likes to be involved. We don't get to explore as much as we would like at the moment, but that will not be for long. We have many other interests that we share besides, I know this to be an important thing. Most all of my relationships have had my SO/ex-wife involved in diaper changes.

52 years ago my soon to be wife surprised me by getting into bed with me. I am surprised that there haven’t been more discussions about your SO’s acceptance of your diaper fetish.

During the last two years there were two major developments with my spouse and my fetish. First my wife of 56 years asked me for a divorce and my diaper fetish was a major cause. I was stunned. She had known of my diaper and rubber pants wearing and had actually participated with me. I agreed to purge my supplies and keep them out of my life. Unfortunately, my wife has dealt with a number of health issues and admitted to being depressed. She is now doing better both physically and mentally.

Secondly, I started with more frequent and more severe episodes of ‘urge incontinence’. I’m now wearing guards in my boxer briefs. The medical necessity use of a guard is a far cry from the sexual attachment to adult diapers and plastic pants and yet there is a novelty in having a padded package that I can wear in front of my wife. I’m not sure if the guards are going to be sufficient. So far I haven’t had to really trust it.

A lot can happen in a couple of years.

That's a tricky question since there are levels of acceptance and involvement. What I've experienced as a DL is that with SOs there is always that initial shock when you finally open up about it one way or another, and no matter how that will turn out. My take is be honest once you get to know one another better unless you want to keep on keeping that a secret. Keeping that secret gets old very quickly when the relationship progresses though. Always hiding your supplies, making excuses, etc.

I've experienced everything from accepting to rejection.

It depends on the person, but you will know right off one way or the other very quickly. I guess it all depends on your comfort level when it comes to this.

The diaper fetish has so many emotional quirks and taboos involved that a person being confronted with it will have a hard time wrapping their head around it.

Much of the diaper fetish involves our early formative years. Mommy and daddy used all sorts of sticks and carrots to get us all potty trained. Many of them hard on positive emotional development.

Later development is all directed to the “gross factor” of diapers and bodily functions.

By the time we’ve aged enough to date most people have a pretty hard core opinion on the whole thing. And generally not good for diaper lovers.

if I can add a little to that: In my opinion this is a matter of choosing. I never chose to be a kinkster, a little or DL. I think I was wired that way with birth and somewhere along the line it was triggered. It is a characteristic that was imprinted, but could have been a different kink as well, if it was triggered somewhere in life. That being said, I don’t think those kind of things are “fixable” and only have certain ways of dealing with it, but no solution. I totally agree on being honest with your SO. If it is a big part of you, your character and your life, then you better share it with the one you share life with. If it’s to hard to share, I also understand, but I think honesty is the way to happiness in everything.

My wife’s perspective has changed through 56 years of marriage.

In our young lives she explored and participated in my fantasy’s on occasion. She never had the same level of interest that I had but she was a willing participant. We raised a family, and ultimately retired.
